Wargrounds of Scape (WoS) - discussion thread

Fire Isles: I enjoy playing this map. I really do. However, its flaws are just too much for me to overlook and call it one of the best of the best. It has unintuitive start zones (a major pet peeve), the glyphs are hard to contest (PKs are very very good at holding glyphs on this map), and there are issues with range vs melee end games. If Krav win initiative in the first round, they can also deal a dumb amount of damage (it's not necessarily game ending, but it's problematic). The level 3 single-hex islands are also problematic, and Moltenclaw and Nilfheim (and other dragons) are just nots on this map. Overall, I think it's a good map, but not deserving of WoS status. NO.

Bad Moon Rising: This map is good. It's not my favorite (it's a weird mine-and-yours hill situation), but the "hills" are easily assailable from shadow. It's balanced, it plays well, the starting zones are intuitive enough, and it's an overall good board. I do think the battlements are thrown around a little willy-nilly, but it's not too bad, and it doesn't hamper development too much. YES.
