Yup. I'm with L_O and SF, as well.

This happens sometimes. I love that mini, but if we approved it, and it entered our long design cycle, and we released something many (many) months from now, what would people do for proxies?

I love window shopping and I love seeing what's out there. It pleases me to look in this thread and elsewhere and see the cool minis people find. But I think the best thing we can do for our fans sometimes is just to say no.

I'd be tempted to buy up all the stock of something we knew was going to get used, to make sure they're available for 'scapers. Could be pricey depending on what it is, and we'd also need to know exactly how many we'd need.

Our resources are currently tied up in *ahem* a different project. I would not encourage any of us to commit to something like that, nor would I commit the group to something like that, beyond the resources we already use in that way.

I agree with you D_S but I also agree with Necroblade here. If we were to have members of the community (or C3V) assigned to help buy up stock for miniatures we knew would be used, then that could make minis a whole lot more available. Then scapers could come here for purchasing custom units rather than scouring the internet if something becomes hard to find . Just a thought.

I would look on eBay or elsewhere for the Nhah Scirh, personally. Those Hybrids only come with 6 figures per box, whereas many of the other packs come with 8 figures for a full two squads at roughly the same price. I don't know how shipping is, but I don't think that these Hybrids are a great deal.

That's fair, Sir H. I edited my post above in a way that is partly responsive to you.

We do have some money that we "invest" with, you might say, but it's currently tied up elsewhere. I wouldn't encourage any of my friends to invest more, particularly without a worthy design already in place.

With the right knowledge of designs and numbers, I'm willing to discuss the possibility of pursuing this for the C3V community.

As noted, this sale probably isn't a good place to start, since it's such short notice.

It would be nice to be able to purchase the minis directly from Heroscapers, but I'm not sure how feasible this is. These figures are on clearance from this site, so stock will almost certainly be clearing up very soon. Given that there aren't any designs already hinging on these minis, I think it's a little premature to purchase up all of the stock for future use.

I'm also hesitant just from a financial standpoint, though. I'd hate to encourage someone to drop hundreds of dollars on stockpiling minis only to have a handful of buyers actually contact them. It would be nice if something along these lines could be worked out in the future, but I don't see anything concrete happening before September 4th.

I think I found a suitable proxy/replacement for this cyclops.

According to what info I can find, the official figure is about 4.5 inches, and this one is about 4. There's also an alternate version wielding a club. He's 1/3 the price and I found 75+ before eBay.
