Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
My experience with D&D minis is that there are usually more available than it seems at first, so I'm not concerned with his availability if you've found 60 at the big name stores.
I'm not sure what I think about the Reckless Barrage and Resilience interaction, but we are considering something similar with Kheris Fehn right now and the jury is still out on whether or not at issue will cause problems. Thrangir looks like a fun, interesting standalone unit. I wish his class were Knight or Paladin or somesuch instead of Champion, though. It would be nice to see some factions expanded. Regardless of whether or not you change his class, to review. Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
For what it's worth, I played a bunch of games with Thrangir when he was in the Playtest Exchange, and I have to say that the interaction between Reckless Barrage and Resilience is much better than the one between Nhah Scirh Shield and Deflection. It feels elegant rather than awkward.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
My mind is made up. to review.
I really like the idea of changing the class to Knight, just to give some direction in army building and make the Jandar tie stronger. But I think Champion works for him too. 10 Years of Gencon/Scapecon Battle Reports - Comic Battle Reports - Probability Calculator App - Reverse the Whip Army Archetypes "It's all about the game." - Sgt. Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
This is a question for all of the judges.
Would you guys consider a custom unit that incorporated the flying symbol that the C3G uses on a classic 'scape unit? This is just a hypothetical question. |

Would be cool though! (Note: Technically, a Super Strength figure would have to be allowed, though.) |

Would like a definitive answer to this before I vote.

Regardless, I would be very disinclined to consider a unit that used the Flying symbol. Agreed. 'Scape should have had that from the beginning, but it didn't, and I'm all about looking official.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
I did once ask if Reckless Barrage and Resilience are supposed to interact, and the answer was yes.
However, reading the powers again I'm not sure what that interaction is supposed to be. Reckless Barrage says you place a wound marker "to" attack again, implying that if the wound is prevented the extra attacks are not allowed since the condition has not been met. Then it's a question of whether or not you can attempt Reckless Barrage again in the same turn. I doubt this is how the interaction is intended to work, but I would like clarification. I'm ok with voting for it as-is as this is something Editing can work out wording-wise, but I'd like to be clear on the intent. |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
I'm not sure I like that Resiliance can prevent the wound from Reckless Barrage, especially with a base attack of 4. Seems too powerful at first glance. But that's something to watch for in testing and not a reason to say no IMO.
