Since it is necro'd, though, what do folks think of taking the "optional" out of the title here? If you're playing Event Heroes, you should be using these rules.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Rules Team - I believe the intent here was that Event Heroes would be considered to have the Mental Shield special power. I may be misremembering, though. I'd appreciate if anyone on the C3G Rules Team can weigh in.

As I posted in Puppet Master's thread, the rules say that an opponent cannot take temporary or permanent control of an Event Hero. It doesn't say that the Event Hero has the Mental Shield special power, so a power that says that "Figures with the Mental Shield special power are not affected by _____" technically only applies in preventing the control changing hands. In Reactive Mind Control, there is a preliminary action where the PM opponent's turn ends.

It is a relatively easy retro to correct the Event Hero rules and specifically give EH's the Mental Shield special power, which accomplishes what we intended and closes this loophole.
