As I had mentioned earlier, I am open to what planet could fit for the Elgos Knights but, if pressed, I would put them as some kind of remnant of an ancient civilization on Feylund.

Viceron the Dark Knight is also a little tricky to place, but I would go for Toril with him. He is not exactly directly D&D 4e based, but neither are a lot of things that came from Toril (Brimstone (I believe), Morgoloth, Skull Demon). I think he could otherwise slot in nicely to that sort of high fantasy world. Early Arctorus is also a contender, but I'm wary of contributing to that becoming too much of a catch all and would prefer Toril instead.
I'm a little confused. Is it Elgos Knights from Feylund and Viceron from Troil, or have you not decided yet?

I would personally put the Elgos Knights on Feylund and Viceron the Dark Knight on Toril.

This is not a topic that I feel incredibly strongly about and am not sure if it is a prerequisite for submission, but if I need to formally nail things down then that's what I'd go with.

It is not formally a prerequisite for submission. We used to not have Basic sides, so it wasn't even part of the submission. Technically VC decides what's on the Basic side, though obviously we would want the creator's input. We should consider making Homeworld part of the submission.

I disagree about using the Homeworld part of the submission, simply because it has nothing to do with in-game use (outside of the chance scenario). The theme of the unit (and their powers) should pretty much say where the unit in question comes from. For example, C3V's Haduc is a D&D figure but he is clearly one of the 9 Feylund Wizards.

Just my (non official) thoughts, however.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

On the other hand, the judges of the SoV (and their brethren voting in the C3V) review for more than "in-game use." And they are not responsible for the design of the unit.

The designs of the Age of Annihilation, and their ACES compatibility with VC
C3V "Easily the best quality classic customs I have ever seen."

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

Homeworld is part of theme. For many submissions, it isn't especially relevant, such as Jarek Guy (it's obvious where he comes from). But some have multiple possible homeworlds, and I wouldn't like an Asterios from Earth, a Brimstone from Icaria, or a Kantono Daishi from Toril. So it's not a "prerequisite" but if a judge wants further thematic explanation, I'd be prepared with a homeworld.

Or at least a tentative homeworld.

I think all of those were fairly self explanatory. :P

But nameless heroes (Viceron, here) seem to all be DnD lands. Lol

Personally, I like lines in the sand. To get votes from one judge because your submission is probably from Arctorus and get votes from another because he might not be is playing the system. Everybody needs to be voting on the same thing.

(again, just my , not speaking for the other judges)

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion

How many common squad figures would need to be available to purchase on line to be considered acceptable for acceptance for the review process of SOV?

Have you tried Hexscape? 3D Heroscape Multiplayer Battle program!

Looking for a C3V/SOV miniature? Try one of these sites.

The rule of thumb is that we want enough available for about 75 people. So roughly 225 figures available per figure in the squad. But that is a rule of thumb--not a hard-and-fast rule.

Additionally, if something is still in print, Reaper Legendary Encounters for example, and is going to bounce back into availability you may submit it.

EDIT: I'm not a judge so don't quote me on this.
