Classic League
This tournament will be bi-weekly. You will have two weeks to complete your game with your opponent. (Week 1 begins Monday 6/4)
The tournament is A Taste of Gencon .
Each round will have a different 2018 Gencon Format. The formats are pre-set so you can take that into account which formats come first when designing armies. (The playoffs will be reverse format order from the regular season, with Coalition not being played again unless 4 playoff rounds are required. So the Round 1 format, will also be the Championship format)
Rules:
An army card may only be used ONCE in your set of army submission. (example: Raelin may only be in one of your four armies)
The formats are:
Round 1: Pod Cluster Draft
Figures: Classic Figures ,Marvel ALLOWED
Bring 3 Armies
150-170 each
7 Hex max each
Clusters may not contain the same army card as any other of your clusters
Players draft the armies in a 1-2-1-1-1 format
Round 2: Alliance War
Figures: Classic Figures ONLY, no Marvel
480 points, 18 hexes
All of your army must be from 1 of the following alliances: Jandar & Aquilla, Ullar & Einar & Vydar, Utgar & Valkrill.
No more than 300 points from 1 general.
Round 3: Monster Mash
Figures: Classic Figures ONLY, no Marvel
600 points, 16 figures
At least 450 points of Large/Huge figures in your army.
Round 4: Coalition War
Figures: Classic Figures ONLY, no Marvel
500 points, 18 figures
Each army must include at least 50 points from at least 5 generals.
Tournament Setup
-There will be 4 rounds (swiss style) lasting 2 weeks each.
-Each player with at least 3 wins will make a single elimination tournament with tiebreakers for seeding based on Strength of Schedule (Win (non forfeit) total of opponents. secondary tiebreaker will be combined win % of opponents (game actually played only)).
-Rematch Avoidance within the playoffs given priority over seeding to avoid rematches where possible
-A diceoff before each match will determine who chooses to place armies first, except in the Cluster Draft format. The diceoff winner will choose who makes first army choice. The diceoff loser of the Cluster Draft will decide who places first
