Thanks o'great buddy... I think we finally understand the leading can be used on the entire write up and not just the gap between powers. We followed your advice and it looks a heck of a lot better. You are the master.
Edit: just noticed I updated the card from a version that was before the final edits. Really it’s just that the word “army” should be removed in a few spots and the last sentence of the SA should be moved to the first power. That's exactly correct, Nado. Vision has been a design on the Helm back burner for a long time and has gone through a few changes over the years. His phasing was incorporated into a defensive power for some time but it was unnecessarily clunky. Eventually he got the Helm family edit and the defensive power was dropped in favor of an increased defense. We figured that his phasing power was already partially represented by Stealth Flying.
As for phasing in his movement, we didn't bother based on our experience with Martian Manhunter. Many moons ago we had "Phantom Movement" on John Jonz which allowed him to phase through ruins or overhangs. In reality, the extra aspect to traditional Stealth Flying was only utilized once in all of our games and it wasn't even that impactful. To keep Phantom Movement in our games for a a very random theme moment seamed like it was not worth the trouble of having his power not synergize with other powers that reference "Flying or Stealth Flying". It was a classic HelmAverse decision to tip the scale toward mechanics over theme. The phasing in his movement just wasn't worth it when Stealth Flying gets you 99% the way there. So that's probably more than anyone cared to know but I really love the fact that @Taeblewalker and @Tornado cared enough to stop by our little corner of the Scapeverse. #the150thcardiscoming |

The reuse of Tactical Switch on Black Widow is really cool. Definitely a good way to translate one of her signature moves to Heroscape:
As for Deadman, if I'm reading him right it seems he is basically helpless against squads. Was that Lil' Helms' intent? With Terrax's Geokinesis, you should probably specify if the effect is a Fall, Major Fall, or Extreme Fall. I'm guessing the intent is a regular Fall, in which case you could word it something like, "...are considered to have fallen from a level one level more than the figure's height." |

i like the new cards. A lot of words for a Helmaverse cards has Terrax.
I wonder if Black Widow didn't warrant the double attack in ranged as well as melee? Just seems kind of right for her. Thanks for the explanation. I actually enjoy reading that kind of stuff and was one of my favorite aspects of C3G was being able to read through the Books. Unfortunately most of the designing takes place elsewhere now.
Really like all that theme on Terrax. Forced fall is pretty clever. |
