C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
How to Lead a C3G Terrain Design Want ideas for what to create? Check out our previously designed Destructible Objects and Terrain in our Books of Index thread. Prior to creating your design thread, post your design or concept in the C3G Terrain Makers Thread. This will give the Terrain Department Members an idea of what you are seeking to achieve and allow for some brainstorming.Brainstorming Requirements and getting approval All designs require you to at least be a C3G Ally. Terrain Department Design threads cost 5 points to start and do not take up a standard C3G design slot. If you’re an Ally, you’ve got 5 points burning a hole in your pocket, and you’ve already submitted your idea to the Terrain Makers Thread for a little brainstorming. It’s time to make your request. Simply make a post saying “I would like to request approval to LD (insert Link to previously brainstormed design).” in the C3G Terrain Makers Thread. Once the request is made, Terrain Department Members will vote for the approval of your design in the C3G Terrain Sanctum Voting Hall.Start your thread Once you have gathered your 5 C3G points via playtesting and gotten C3G Terrain Department Members approval, you can start your design thread in the C3G Terrain Makers subforum. If it’s a fully custom terrain piece you have created, use the template found here. The Terrain Tutorial template has all the information you will need laid out for the first post of your thread. If it’s a destructible object, use the template found here. The Destructible Object template has information for the first two posts in the thread, the second post holds the design and the third post is for any art you want the artist to use on the card (this is just a suggestion, our Art Department will use what they think is the best).Phases of the design:

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
1st draft of C3G Terrain Goals:
1) To have a collection of terrain that can be used on C3G maps for competition, scenario, and/or casual game play. 2) To have each terrain design be a collaborative effort from the C3G Terrain members while encouraging support, ideas, and effort from the entire Heroscapers.com community. 3) Maintain the position of at least 5 and no more than 11 core members who are enthusiastic, well respected, and active Heroscapers.com members. |

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
1st draft of C3G Terrain Rules:
1) For any decision to be finalized, a proposal must be submitted in the Voting Hall or in an individual terrain design thread in this manner so it is not confused with simple chatter or normal discussion: I Propose (what it is you are Proposing). 2) Each proposal will have 2 days to achieve a majority vote. A proposal will stay active for 2 days or until all C3G Terrain members have voted and then the votes will be tallied. A vote consists of a C3G Terrain member posting yea or nay. 3) If there is a split decision on a proposal, then any C3G Hero that is not a C3G Terrain member may respond to the split decision by voting. The first C3G Hero to respond will have the deciding vote. |

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
Looking good so far. Is it too much to ask to specifically mention Buildings and Skyscrapers in our goals?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
Could we also add in that scale is muy importante? I mean one of the chief issues A3N has with Grish's buildings is the scale.
Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
We're going to do buildings.
But we need to discuss scale. |

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
I think it's appropriate that we scale is considered for all things we do but it's not the foundation for what we do. The perfect example is buildings, because the correct scale would be 6 levels high but practicality for game mechanics & what we wanted to do with them 8 suits the best.

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
Should it be a goal to make play inside the buildings/skyscapers possible, either physically inside by removing floors or by secondary map of possibly printable generic floors?

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
Those are specific goals that we're going to try to make happen with buildings but we need to explore it further to see what we can do.

Re: C3G Terrain Rules and Goals
Well you could have figure enter the building, and then if another figure enters they could automatically be classified as adjacent whilst inside allowing for close combat. You could even give a defensive penalty for tge lack of space.
