I'm gay

I've just felt like I needed to get this off of my chest to more people than a few that I talk to on Facebook (some of which are from this site, some of which aren't).



And to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what else to say. So I'm just going to throw out a few random points:

Thank you to scorp for being there when I first came out. He and I talked practically non stop over the course of that entire weekend, and he was always willing to listen. He's definitely the one person I would recommend talking to if you need to tell someone something.

Second, thank you to everyone else that I've talked to about it. You know who you are, and I'm glad you were all so accepting and willing to still make it a fun situation (specifically Dysole who's response was, "Okay. So?").

Third, to the person I recently started talking to who choose to tell me that he is bi and has supported me greatly in the creation of this thread. He does wish to remain hidden, though, so I'm not going to throw him under the bus and say who it is. I will say that he is also a member of this site, but that's about it.

If you want to, feel free to ask me a question (in private or in here). Or if you want to talk about anything, you can just send me a PM. I'm pretty open about things, so as long as the question isn't really inappropriate, I'll answer it.

Also, I've already done this in the Hangout (this is nearly the same post, just changed 1 or 2 things), so some people that I don't talk to often do know.

And I'm pretty sure that was it. I'll add something if it comes to mind.

If an admin wishes for this to be moved to a different section of the site (except obviously the Hangout, that'd be completely pointless), then feel free to do so. I just believe that this is the best place for it, as it's not really about anything related to Heroscape.

I third it. I see nothing wrong with people being gay and I wish everyone felt the same way. I'm glad that you're confident enough to tell people and aren't ashamed.

On one hand I have the same reaction, "ok, so?" but on the other hand I do recognize that in today's society it isn't always an easy thing to come out and do because of possible social repercussions. I can empathize because I'm an atheist, and we're an even more hated/distrusted minority.

Congratulations on having the courage to do it! You are who you are. Be proud!

On the one hand, Dysole (and all the others who said the same) are right to say "Ok, so?"

But I think Ollie, Dysole, and the rest of us who don't care also respect the courage it took to make that statement.

So, good for you, I'm pleased to see you at peace with your decision and at peace with yourself.

Awesome that you've been able to come out to such a great support group. Good on you.

My only gripe about the whole thing (if it can even be called that) is that this is really more of a "blog it" situation. As a Site Supporter you have a blog and I think that is a more appropriate way to get this on the site than in the forums. But that's a minor quibble.
