Because brands sell. I too would like to see fantastic new, original content in both boardgames and movies, but if the choice is between branded content or no new content then I guess I'll take the branded content. If that's what motivates companies to bring products to market, so be it. I'm certainly no worse off than I was before. |

Re: Magic: the Gathering Strategy Board Game (Looks HeroScap
Actually, I'm not planning on buying this since I have all the terrain I could ever need, but I'd be more than happy to accept one as a gift from you if you don't mind shipping to the US.

Foudzing, stop mocking people. Regardless of whether you are right, it is poor manners and it is unwelcome here. I will continue to dock you where I think appropriate, but if you do not change your ways I will pursue other remedies as well.

Re: Magic: the Gathering Strategy Board Game (Looks HeroScap
Well it seems that there are several possible things that could happen from here:
1) Heroscapers.com does nothing, officially. If people want to buy it, play it, or make customs from it, have fun. 2) VC decides to use the set, but with new characters set in the established Fanscape. ("Wizards of Arctorus"?) The unpainted Squads are used as Constructs of Magic Energy. Or something. 3) Same as above, but the Planeswalker characters and Magic squads have been summoned to Valhalla. So Liliana Vess can face off against Q9. 4) A separate project (MTGScape?) is established, similar to HOSS, to adapt the Planeswalkers and their Squads into the existing Heroscape rules, tested with existing Classic scape units. It is not integrated into the Valhalla story, no Generals assigned, etc. 5) The Planeswalkers summon from Valhalla! We adapt Heroscape units and rules to use with the rules and universe of MTGSBG, so people who buy the game can use their Scape collection and terrain with it. 6) WOTC, as a way to entice the established (but shrinking) Heroscape base, does 3, 4, and/or 5, and releases those rules / cards / etc online. Of course none of these may come to pass, and the possibilities aren't mutually exclusive. It's much to early to tell, until we see what the game is really like. |

Re: Magic: the Gathering Strategy Board Game (Looks HeroScap
I don't know why people are still arguing about this subject. This is something that can strengthen the heroscape community, not weaken it.
MagicScape (if they even name it that) sounds like a decent game, I for one wouldn't buy it because I have enough scape as it is. But I could see a future for this board game with people who both enjoy magic and heroscape. That's all I have to say here, |
