Very interesting .... I'm thinking the government tries to have its own line of Iron Men in this movie, including Rhodes, and they possibly send them after Tony.

Is Mandarin, or any other figure that begins wih an equipment glyph for that matter, allowed to pick up additional glyphs other than the ones he started with? or is that one of the consequences of starting with equipment glyphs?

The default rules are that figures can only carry one Equipment Glyph at a time unless otherwise specified on powers on their card. Since nothing on this card specifies that he can carry more except that he starts with the three, he therefore can only equip a new glyph if he drops all three he starts with or has them stolen from him.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

No problemo. Interesting side effect of all of that, btw - if Mandarin has a Makluan Glyph he starts with stolen or drops one, he also can't pick that up unless he drops or somehow loses the others first, since there's no mechanic allowing him to equip additional glyphs that aren't already on his card except the default glyph rules.
