You just made Moltenclaw sad.

(Speaking of Moltenclaw, he managed to kill my Quahon in two turns last night with the help of one Greenscale. Pretty impressive. Then he killed an Izumi and a Tagawa and put 3/4 wounds on Tomoe Gozen before dying. I still almost won the game - came down to a fully bloodlusted Tagawa Samurai missing two straight attacks of 6v4 on Sir Orrick before Orrick killed him on his first attack. Sigh. After removing Jandar's dispatch numbers, which really skew the stats, I saw that I rolled 33 more attack dice than simval in the game... and rolled 2 more skulls. Ouch.)

The game started out very poorly for me as the Airborne dropped round 1 and they proceeded to kill all of my Krav as the Krav couldn't roll any skulls and I forgot he had a bonus move from Marcus. The Airborne also killed my Izumi before Skahen took them out, leaving my with only three figures for my Ebon Armor to regenerate from. However, the Pathfinder pod was immediately locked down by Rats, which allowed the Armor to move in and take out three Pathfinders and put two wounds on Varan. Skahen finished off the remaining Pathfinders and Varan, and the final Armor killed his Isamu, who whiffed his first Vanish roll. Drake was surrounded by Rats, and Soundwarp conceded after my Isamu put 4 wounds on him with two 6v3s in an init switch.

The remaining figures were Marcus and a 1-life Drake vs Isamu, Skahen, Crixus, and three Rats. The Ebon Armor did pretty well in their first online (first ever?) tournament game, killing 147 points and still either being alive or being capable of coming back. I definitely hope to use them again later in the event.

Yeah, that game was pretty lucky for me.

On top of that, I took a lot of time to play with the knights (I'll be faster this time Kinseth, I promise :P), so that was probably a little frustrating for Dok. He was a good sport though, I for that I am really glad.

I actually could have ended the game on time and claimed a win on points the end of any of my last three turns (after killing the Greenscale or after either of my two misses on Sir Orrick). I had been more than 30 minutes ahead for a while but I had been behind on points. I was finally up on points when the last greenscale died (single Tagawa = 40, 2-life Orrick = 33.3). But we were so close to the conclusion that I decided to just play it out. I'll leave my feelings about that decision at this time as an exercise for the reader.

The game did run a little long, but you were a good sport. Both times I've played you have been exciting, down-to-the-wire contests, Simval. I look forward to the next one.

I wish that was the worst Isamu story I had.
