This is why I ask. Heavy snow hurts everything, but it hurts these guys really badly.

Yeah...I looked at it again, Sadly I think they can't take height on heavy snow with "Gain High Ground"

I disagree...if they can legally land on the space (and not climb over anything more than 4 height to get there)...they can move "up to one space" (not movement allowance).

Heavy snow just sits on top of them after they move.

I would happily house rule it to allow for heavy snow traversal, but it honestly doesn't allow for it based on the wording of the card. If they had intended for it, they would included a snippet that said they don't need to account for heavy snow/ice when using "Gain High Ground". As Tornado says, do what the card says, not what what it does not say.

Both rules for heavy snow (moving onto it and landing on it) state you must count one space as two spaces, so yeah by RAW, GGs can't GHG to Heavy Snow or Slippery Ice. The card would've said something like hex instead of space.
