Having played the first five with a live opponent, I'm now solitairing my way through the rest of the 20 scenarios of Commands and Colors Napoleonics: The Austrian Army (Expansion 3). They are really good, and the White Block Austrians have a much better chance of standing up to the Blue French than the Green Russians did!

I'm on my own because my historically minded gamer pal and I have switched over to Hold The Line: Frederick's War. New scenarios are appearing for it on bgg, after the designer reedited the old ones. We'll probably be moving on to Highland Charge, the Jacobite Rising in Scotland, its small expansion. Also coming is a second expansion eventually: The Great Northern War.

I've played about ten games of two player Kemet, and am looking forward to a few games with more players when possible.

I haven't played yet with Firefly: Breaking Atmo, its first small expansion. The first large expansion Pirates and Bounty Hunters is due out in April, and will supposedly provide for more player interaction.

They've opened up a new board game cafe in Lower Manhattan's Greenwich Village, but I haven't had a chance to drop by yet.

If anyone is looking for a cool little card game that can be played anywhere, even without a surface, check out oddball Aeronauts . They are down to the last day for their Kickstarter.

For me, it looks to be a cool game to get my kids into and they can play in the back seat of the car while driving here and there, not to mention just playing it anywhere else too. But not needing a surface to play on opens it up to be able to kill some time when waiting around for something. I dig the art and the theme seems fun.

Got the new expansion "Fortress of the Stone Giants" for Pathfinder ACG yesterday and played through the first scenario of it solo. I've been extremely careful in how I add in the new cards to the game so that when I find something new, it really is new and not something that I am expecting to find.

During one of my early explores, I encountered a large chest which would let me put 1d4 random weapons into my hand. I am playing a couple of characters who are heavy weapon users (Valeros and Harsk) as well as Kyra who was still wielding a lousy mace from the base set, so I thought getting it would be important. I threw a couple of blessings at it to guarantee success and got what I needed. I rolled my d4 and got a 4 so I maximized my earnings.

So, I randomly select 4 cards and get two of the new +3 weapons as well as another upgrade! Valeros and Kyra both wound up with new weapons from this wonderful treasure chest.

This is one of the things that I love most about this game, getting loot!!!

And having now played through the first scenario I am really excited about the rest of it going forward. I've stated before that my only real issue with the game is it's difficulty level. They seem to have addressed that in this expansion. The first scenario was much more difficult than recent adventures and only promises to be more difficult as time goes by. There were a few moments where I really felt that my characters were close to death.

This gives me more and more reason to love this game.

Awesome! Yeah, I figured they'd make the expansions increasingly difficult. That's the nice thing about expansive games like P:ACG - there's plenty of room for tweaking in all the expansions.

The girls and I had a fun game of Flash Point. We had the usual suspects, with Morgan being the Paramedic, Paige being the Rescue Specialist and I was the CAFS Firefighter. They get all the glory for rescuing people and pets, while I take care of the dirty work . We lost 2 people, but saved 8, so we still won. But as the picture shows, it was getting sketchy toward the end with lots of explosions and damaged walls.

For those with a keen eye, you'll see that we are all using different minis for our firefighters. Paige wanted the original blue pawn, Morgan wanted the wooden white fire meeple, and I took the green plastic firefighter figure.
