The weapons were scavenged from MechWarrior figures, mostly from vehicles and infantry.

Anybody else remember when Auggie first started selling Heroscape and he had squads of Repulsors up for $1.50 per squad? Now I wish I had ordered a ton of them...

How I wish that I had bought everything HeroScape-related that I could see back then. I heard that the FotA set was once sold for $15 on accident back during production... Some of that stuff sounds too good to be true at times.

The FotA thing is true; those sets were $10-$15 all over the internet for a period of 2-3 years or so. I always figured stores had too much stock of that stuff and had to move it cheap just to make room. There was also speculation that Hasbro had mispriced an entire production run of those sets.

Things like this make me really wish that I had gotten interested in the game just a few years earlier. The amount of money that could've been saved...

I remember seeing Jungle sets in stock at a Walmart for $20 back in 2009. I didn't buy any because I already had two.
