C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Wong

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
Pass - a loyal butler to Doctor Strange, these two men have experience fighting together.

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.

Pass - very fun, it was neat to get the extra activation, even if it was not worth it sometimes.

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
Pass - there was no point attacking the Doctor while Wong was alive, but Wong falls quickly. Once Wong falls all you have to deal with is an attack of 5.

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
Pass - Definitely fun and draftable with his two Doctors.

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
Pass - Kan’s Oath was never used, but I can imagine circumstances in which it can be used.

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.

- What should be the unit's point value? 80-100
- Give a brief overview. While Wong was a waste of 80 points the first game, his second game was amazing. Doctor Strange is already strong and giving him a second attack of 3-4, plus a +1 attack boost proved extremely useful. However, the opposing team had terrible luck and Wong fell to one attack. Kan’s Oath hasn’t been used yet, since it’s so much easier to take out Wong.
Map: Road Rampage (2 Astrid +1 attack glyphs)
Units: Doctor Strange, Wong, Silver Surfer C3G, Iron Man Mk 3 (1000) vs Lizard, Spider-Man C3G, Steel, Iron Patriot (1000)

Pre-game thoughts: Wong really doesn’t look like a big help to Doctor Strange, but Doctor Strange is already a strong figure. Getting an extra activation and +1 attack, plus protection, from Wong will be useful. Will it be worth 80 points?

Round 1: I did not play Wong well. Iron Patriot moved out with Steel, while Wong and Doctor Strange opposed them. Wong engaged Iron Patriot and attacked him, but it was blocked. Doctor Strange moved adjacent to Wong and Steel, and attacked Steel with +1 attack. However, on the third turn Iron Patriot KO’ed Wong with his double attack. I’m going to run this game again due to Wong’s early demise. At the end of this round, Wong is dead and Doctor Strange has one wound from Steel.

Round 1: This time, I let Doctor Strange lead the way, purposefully leaving Wong close behind. Doctor Strange and Iron Patriot attack each other, but to no avail.

Round 2: Doctor Strange is 2 spaces away from Iron Patriot, so Wong engages Iron Patriot and unleashes an attack of four, dealing three wounds! Doctor Strange’s attack of six is blocked. Iron Patriot whiffs his first attack against Wong, and his second (2 skulls) is blocked. Wong and Doctor Strange destroy Iron Patriot on their second turn, making the IP team lose their Order Markers 2 and 3. On their third turn, Wong and Doctor Strange roll some hot dice and take down Steel as well! All of the Wong team is unwounded, by the way.

Round 3: Lizard wins initiative, unleashing a 5-skull attack on Wong, KO’ing him, while giving a wound to Doc Strange via Tail Whip. Doc Strange deals Lizard 3 wounds, but chooses to not inflict one and luckily removes Lizard’s “3” OM. Lizard deals the Doctor a second wound before falling.

Round 4: While Spidey rolls well on attack and defense, he misses two Spidey-Senses rolls, and Doctor Strange Ko’s him. This was a blowout match.

Who won and how many wounds did they have? Doctor Strange w/4 wounds, unwounded Silver Surfer + Iron Man Mk 3

Pre-game thoughts: The Agents of SHIELD are throwing enough attack dice per turn to make the Wong team scared, but there are not many Agents. Aquaman will help heal Doctor Fate as well, which is extra helpful since Fate has Magical Defense.

Round 1: Nick Fury drops on height with Hawkeye and 2 SHIELD agents. Doc Fate teleports Aquaman onto height, and Wong moves out. Together, Wong and Doc Fate put 4 wounds on Nick Fury, then Nick and the SHIELD agents he commands take down Wong, while Doc Fate takes a single wound as well. Doc Fate KO’s Nick Fury, costing SHIELD their 3rd order marker. Wong was worth the 80 points of quick-strike attacks here, but since he fell so quickly he isn’t worth much more (if any at all). The Skrull Infiltrator replaces Nick Fury.

Round 2: The Agents grab the +1 attack glyph, and rain fire on Doctor Fate. Doctor Fate and Aquaman take down an agent each turn, but SHIELD KO’s Fate and puts two wounds on Aquaman. Aquaman destroys the agent on the glyph, then heals one wound.

Round 3: Aquaman heals a few times and destroys the last of the SHIELD agents. Hawkeye engages Aquaman and brings him to 3 wounds.

Round 4: Hawkeye wins initiative and KO’s Aquaman.

Who won and how many wounds did they have? Hawkeye and Skrull Infiltrator x1, both with no wounds

Sorry I the playtest above answers this wanted to get the question posted and don't have time to read the posted playtest. That said.....
I have a dumb question, let's say Thor attacks Strange (Wong's Master) and rolls 4 skulls. Strange rolls one shield, but only would take one damage instead of three because of Magical Defense. Now if Wong used Kon's Oath to take the damage for Strange would he recieve one or three wounds? I mean he is taking the damage for him and he is only taking one wound. However he is only taking one wound due to a power Wong doesn't possess. Sorry to bug you about this just want to do the test right, thanks.

I'm glad darkraptor posted this question. He emailed me about it earlier. My intention when I wrote the original version of the power was that in the situation above, you could choose:

1) To have Wong take the 3 wounds using Kan's Oath; or
2) Have Dr. Strange take the wounds but having them limited by Magical Defense to 1.

Given the current working of the power is my interpretation correct? Does the power need to be reworded to avoid such confusion?
