I Can Dream

I'm rooting for Cubs/Indians. I have reasons and anyone familiar with baseball history should know why. Not so sure on the Indians with Carrasco down.

Re: Sports: MLB

Would've liked to see the Mets win the Wild Card so we could get some payback against them for last season. Also their pitching rotation is not nearly as devastating as Bumgarner and Cueto against our cubs lineup. Here's to hoping our bats can stay loud.

Lets Go Cubbies!!

Yeah, Thor did a great job. If anything, I'm more upset by the way the Mets lost than the loss itself. The game followed the blueprint of most of their wins this season - a great starting pitching performance, Addison Reed in the 8th as a rock-solid setup man, and Jeurys Familia in the 9th, one of the most dependable closers in baseball. Except, apparently, in the postseason, in which he's blown three saves now. That kills me because he's one of my favorites on the team and I hate to see him be That Guy Who's Great All Year But Chokes In October.

I am fully with you here. I used to live in Fort Myers which has a ton of former Bostonites and the Red Sox Spring Train and a friend of mine even works for them. Shoot I helped with the design of their Spring Training Stadium. It was great until they won the World Series and all of the sudden they became obnoxious fans. I used to hate Yankee fan but after the Red Sox won they became worse than Yankee fan.

Blue Jay fans however...It's one thing to think it's just a few stupid fans that throw things on the field but it's getting ridiculous at the amount of crap that hits the field in Toronto. As a former player it's really disconcerting.

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Actually this is getting national exposure (which in itself is a little crazy). Looks like the beer can guy is getting fairly ostracized and may even loose his job (he works for the sun paper and they put a 1000$ reward on his name).

Toronto got its win back in the 90's so anything here is just bonus. Plus its not like it is hockey.

The problem is that it's not just this one guy. Seems like every game I watch (and I followed the Rays when we lived in Florida so I saw a lot) some idiot throws something on the field. Every team has these idiots it just seems to happen in highly televised games for Toronto.

No offense to the decent fans of Toronto...I've met some great guys at a few Lightning hockey games. They told me it was cheaper to fly from Toronto and watch a Leaf's game in Tampa than to see a game in Toronto. The were cool guys. but these good fans need to start standing up to the idiots giving them a bad name.

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

So excited for the pitching matchups. Lester/Cueto for Game 1, then Bumgarner/Arrieta in Game 3. A contact hitting team vs. the best defense in baseball. Should be some highlight-reel quality stuff on both sides.

Re: Sports: MLB

The Jays are on fire right now. It doesn't look like the rain cooled off their hot bats from yesterday.

Some questionable umpiring in the second inning with those last two called strikeouts on the Rangers with two on, but other than that the Jays have just been the better team today.
