hmm, i get what you are saying but whether coming down or up you end at the same spot on that floor. you could just make it a rule that stair icons can never be above one another.

It's more that I think the scrap pieces are mechanically confusing for the end user. I believe under the current written rules, they'd be counted as windows (since I just said "partial hexes"), which means that the second floor would have seven windows (an entire row) in the back.

It's not terrible if the first and second floor don't match up. I think that's workable. I'm just worried that the scrap hexes will be confusing, and I wouldn't mind a way to clarify that they're basically just non-spaces. I guess cutting them out would do it, but that seems like a pain and less aesthetically pleasing, so I'm wondering if there's a way to word the rules to make it clear that they don't count as windows or anything else.

Does anybody know where our ruling about partial hexes is posted?

Full Hexes
Full Hexes are standard sized Heroscape hexes that are treated as normal spaces according to the game rules. A Full Hex is any tile space that a figure’s base will fit fully inside.

Half Hexes
A Half Hex is any tile space that a figure's base will not fit fully inside, but that an official Heroscape Wound Marker will fit fully inside.

Partial Hexes
A Partial Hex is any tile space that an official Wound Marker will not fit fully inside. Both Half Hexes and Partial Hexes are governed by special rules.

Half Hexes alongside the open walls of the Skyscraper are considered Window Spaces. Easily done. That cuts out the scraps, since they are Partial Hexes, not Half Hexes.

Interesting that the extra space on the ground floor causes it to switch like that. I kind of dig the idea of the alternating window spaces as you go up. Would you just have the door access hex be in between the two middle windows then? That's kind of cool then too as if your opponent is blocking up the door space you can break out the windows and move inside without disengaging.

Honestly, I think the rules cover it pretty cleanly. We have definitions for full, half, and partial hexes, and the rules in the OP establish that half hexes that are not otherwise covered are windows.

At this point I'm pretty happy with the art files we have. I'm going to give it about a week for Spidey and LP to potentially post test results, then propose for Final Editing here. At which point we can wrap up any little art things and wording things that are still dangling, and hopefully finalize this.
