Here's some games for Alice. She did pretty solid in my games, though there were a lot of times when her teammates were taking the attacks while she pounded on the enemy, which helped. Also, in the second game, I forgot to roll for Borrowed Powers; most of the time it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but there was a time or two that if she had lost a marker it would have drastically altered the game.

GAME SUMMARY:
Red Robin selects the Smoke Pellets and Catman targets Nightwing, while Alice goes for SHAZAM! the first round.

It took both teams into the second round to move out, but then a couple bad defense rolls on Scandal’s part had her going down before the end of the second. Black Alice got a good roll with Hellfire at the end of the round to deal some wounds to the enemy (mostly absorbed by Superboy); however, she failed her roll that turn and lost Hellfire. Opening the third round she used SHAZAM to fly down and engage Superboy to prevent him from using his ability, but her attack rolls were bad and she failed to do any damage, and then she lost SHAZAM too. Superboy disengaged from her, which then allowed him to use his Titan Protector against Catman’s attacks. Opening the fourth round the Titans went nuts and took down Catman with two OMs still on his card. This then gave them time to move in on Bane and Deadshot, who were still sitting in the base. Deadshot, with Bane’s help, was able to take down Nightwing and then Superboy, but Starfire was able to take out both Alice and Bane at about the same time. This left Deadshot to face-off against Starfire, Raven, and Red Robin. He held out for a couple rounds with some great defense rolls, but he wasn’t able to deal much damage. The Titans finally finished him off in the eighth round.

GAME SUMMARY:
Alice’s team rushed to set-up while the Yellow Lanterns rushed in after Arkillo motivated them by sacrificing one of his Corps Members. Arkillo himself came out in the second round and killed Robot with a couple of Eviscerates, but Alice was able to take him out with a couple attacks. Without their leader the Sinestro Corps was lost; they tried to put up a fight, but Alice, Star-Lord, and Meteorite were able to easily work their way through them.

GAME SUMMARY:
Right off things went bad for Alice’s team when Lady Deathstrike got two straight lucky rolls to kill Gypsy without even having to attack. Using Vengeance, Alice was able to take down Lady Deathstrike pretty quickly, but it left Enchantress and Atom open, who both took a wound. Enchantress fled with Atom to the top of the castle, and Alice switched to SHAZAM the next round to catch up to them. Things were looking okay up until the point X-23 got a lucky streak of berserker attacks to put 3 wounds on Enchantress. Following that, Alice rolled poorly on a couple of attack rolls and it took her much longer than it should have to kill X-23. When she finally did take X-23 down it was too late, and the Ninja were able to clean-up.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Black Alice fits in a nice range of armies due to her versatility. She can do a lot of damage, but focused fire will take her down fast, and a bad roll on Borrowed Powers can make her useless (at least temporarily). I can't see her cost coming down, I think 190 is her minimum; but I'm not certain if her costs needs to go up either.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Black Alice is a lot of fun. Deciding which markers to use and when adds a ton of strategy. Due to being primarily an offensive focused figure, she's really not annoying to face at all, and trying to predict how your opponent is going to use her can even be fun.

Black Alice didn't really come into play early on, as putting Order Markers on her prematurely seemed an unnecessary risk. She could have been mobilized by Scandal, but using an OM to advance one figure 4 spaces seemed less than awesome. Scandal didn't start moving Alice around much until later.

Early on, Cable and Psylocke manage to heavily wound Catman before Cable flubs a defense roll and gets brought down by Deadshot. Then Psylocke and Deadpool move in and retake the momentum, getting lucky and mowing down Bane, Deadshot and Catman. Shortly thereafter, Scandal and Black Alice (mobilized with Field Commander and using the powers of Shazam) get into attack range.

At this point, everything's coming up Mutants. Cyclops even manages a string of great defense rolls to frustrate the Outlaws. Alice loses her Shazam marker failing to wound him. Scandal eventually brings him down, however.

At the start of the next round, Black Alice takes up the Vengeance power and deals 3 wounds to Psylocke, destroying her. Wade destroys Alice in retaliation. In the following dust-up, Wade puts a couple wounds on each of the two remaining Outlaws. Improbably, Deadpool flubs a defense roll against Scandal, who brings him down to one life with her normal attack and then finishes him off with her lamentation blades. This was a lucky win for the Outlaws; Deadpool really had 'em dead to rights.

Black Alice didn't do a lot this game. Taking down Psylocke was handy, but she wasn't able to accomplish much else. After she lost the Shazam marker, Deadpool was able to take her down without too much trouble.

Unit Summary:

• Normal Attack used four times. Thrice against Cyclops (with Shazam), 0W. Once against Psylocke (with Vengeance), three wounds dealt and destroyed

Black Alice starts the first round with the Hellfire marker. She's advanced once in the first round as Enchantress's forces move out, and passes her first roll for Stolen Powers with a 19. Star-Lord and Kitty are also moved out into the foothills on Amora's side of the map. Meanwhile, the New Avengers mobilized Captain America, Swordsman, Luke Cage, and Swordsman.

In the second round, the two teams start sniping at each other. An Enchanted Black Alice, rolling 9 attack dice (+2 from Hellfire, +2 from Enchantress, +1 from Star-Lord and +1 from height advantage) deals three wounds to Cap and one wound to Iron Man. She passes her Stolen Powers roll again with a 17. On the next turn, Swordsman rolls all skulls and takes Alice down in one shot.

The rest of the match is pretty fun, though not really relevant to Alice. Enchantress managed to take control of Luke Cage and break up the Avengers' synergy, but after Enchantress went down, he reverted to his true allegiance, and Amora's remaining troops couldn't break his defense.

It's worth noting that she only got one attack off, but in that one attack Black Alice made up her point value, according to the (admittedly somewhat crude) "one wound on Captain America is worth 1/5 of Cap's point value" method. When she's boosted up like this, Alice is going to put out some scary attack numbers. But conversely, she's going to be an attack magnet whenever she's in a build with Enchantress and/or Star-Lord. This kind of build really exaggerates her glass cannon tendencies.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Black Alice plays like a bit of a glass cannon. She strikes me as a bit too unreliable to really be overpowered, but give her some stat-boosters and her attacks can get scary quickly. She's really not hard to beef up to 9+ attack dice. Fortunately, doing that kind of thing and also investing the points to keep her protected is a bit too pricey for most builds.

Fine-tuning her cost is bound to be a toughie, since she has a lot of room to be swingy. I could see her coming up to 200 or so, but I'm not swearing to that. She seems pretty close to me.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: No real thoughts on theme here, since I've read a grand total of 2 issues with Black Alice as a supporting character. She is a really fun design, though. Not the sort of unit I'm usually too eager to draft, since my d20 and I tend to be at cross-purposes, but she does have a really cool, distinctive feel. She draws a lot of attention to herself when she enters the fray.

I'll wait for the tests from Smithy and HG, but I'm feeling comfortable with where she is now. She's 5 wins and 5 losses overall, 4-4 with Borrowed Powers failing at 4 and under, and 3-4 in Public testing.

Red Hood advances, Star-Lord comes and shoots from range for one wound. Bane leads a charge up towards Jason. Deathstroke advances and uses Quick Shot for a blocked wound on Bane. Scandal Savage uses her command to move Catman and Black Alice up slightly. Atrocitus moves up fast(causing Cat-man to move up too) and with Oracle’s help and Star Lord, whacks Bane to two life left.
Round 2
Red Lantern attacks Catman for 3, and uses Rage Gambit to whack him for three more (after 1 shield and one whiff on Catman’s part) with Oracle’s Help and takes 1 wound from the dice. Catman gets another wound on Red Lantern with two attacks and then Scandal uses her Lamentation Blades for two wounds (1 from the Unblockable). Red Lantern kills Catman over two attacks (removing one battery). Scandal attacks again, and kills Red Lantern. Oracle moves Red’s OM to Deathstroke. Deathstroke kills Bane. Scandal moves up Black Alice (more towards Oracle) and moves Red Hood to an advantageous position.

Round 3
Black Alice uses Power of Shazam to fly into Oracle, giving her one wound (rolling a 8 ). Deathstroke seeing a possible problem, hits Black Alice for one wound. Black Alice attacks Oracle again, getting another wound in, healing her previous wound (but rolls a 2 losing Shazam). Deathstroke sees a massive opportunity, hits her with Oracle’s Help and height for three (one shield rolled). Scandal Savage decides she needs to help put an end to this personally, and moves up attacking Star-Lord on the way (Lucky Defense gives him two total shields, allowing him to block. Deathstroke gives Black Alice another wound on an unlucky (for him) Quick Shot roll.
Round 4
Black Alice picks Power of Vengence. Her team wins init, and she decides she has a bone to pick with Deathstroke, attacking him from height, Deathstroke uses Calculated Defense for two wounds on himself and one on Alice (killing her). (Om lost on Oracle, who was going to move to where it would be harder for Black Alice to hit her by disengaging) (So she got 167 in points about). Red Hood, who was the back-up plan just in case Black Alice failed, attacks Oracle with Blazing Guns, leaving a slumped body in her wheelchair, he then uses his last attack (of three) on Star-Lord who blocks. Deathstroke, attacks with Quick Shot from height giving Red Hood a wound. Red Hood fires down onto Star-Lord, giving the little sucker 2 damage. Deathstoke gives Red Hood another two wounds.
Round 5
Deathstroke kills Red Hood. Scandal kills Star-Lord (whiff). Scandal and Deathstroke face off for a while, with a wounded Deathstroke (3 life after his healing), standing over Scandal’s body. He rushed over to attack a stunned Iron Man, killing him over the next round (although he did give Deathstroke another wound, which was healed of course).

Black Alice picks power of Hellfire. Martian Manhunter moves up, and has Star Lord and Black Alice move up. Red Arrow moves to where he can see most of the battlefield. Martian Manhunter attacks Raven and gives her one wound, while moving up Star-Lord, Iron Fist, and Black Alice. Nightwing has Raven use Soul Self onto Martian Manhunter, and Superboy smashes in for two wounds, and then Nightwing attacks Martian Manhunter, giving him one wound. Black Alice uses Hellfire on Raven, Nightwing, and Kid Flash giving Raven and Kid Flash one wound each (9 is rolled). Superboy punches Black Alice for two.
Round 2
Power of Shazam is used. Superboy punches Alice, but is blocked. Martian Manhunter kills Kid Flash after he trips, moving up Star-Lord and Iron Fist. Raven uses Soul Self on Martian Manhunter, giving the Martain one wound away from death. Black Alice gives Nightwing a wound. Nightwing has Raven kill Martian Manhunter, Superboy punch into Alice, who blocks (thankfully) and gives Black Alice another wound. Black Alice punches Nightwing on a whiff (again) and he dies (Thank goodness), but loses Shazam.
Round 3.
Alice uses Power of Hellfire to try and maximize damage (which I thought was important due to Superboy, Raven, and Armor), giving Raven one wound. Armor and Red Arrow kill Alice though in retaliation (she earned 300 points about, but a large part of that was due to Nightwing whiffing). OM lost on Alice. Armor moves up, and Arrow attacks Iron Fist for one. Iron Fist attacks with 3 extra against Red Arrow (for two). Armor and Red Arrow give Iron Fist two more wounds.
Round 4
Iron Fist attacks them both, killing Roy, but can’t dent Armor. Raven flies in and uses Soul Self to give Iron Fist another wound. Iron Fist disengages, and heals, and attacks Raven to give her another wound. Superboy runs in to take advantage of Titan Protector (just in case) better and kills Iron Fist. OM lost.

Round 5
Star-Lord uses his normal on Armor, and gives her another wound. Raven heals Armor’s wound and then puts it on Star-Lord with Soul Self. Star-Lord attacks Raven, but she blocks. Superboy kills Star-Lord.
Results: Full health Superboy, Armor, and Raven.
This game was very swingy with the dice, and the Titans army took advantage of it with Healing and Soul Self.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Alice is balanced by the fact that she is a risk/reward unit, you have to think carefully about which power to use for the situation, and most likely she will lose some of her powers by game’s end. She is good in an outlaw army I would say, but also by herself, especially when the opponent whiffs on an important figure and she rolls well on attack. Her cost is pretty close I’d say.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Black Alice is interesting in that while she is varied due to her "borrowed powers" ability, she can lose one of them for the rest of the game with a bad roll (similar to Sir Hawthorne and The Hood, but slightly different). If you choose well with her abilities and don't roll badly, she can do well for you. Pick the wrong ability at the start of the round though and it could end up biting you in the butt severely. She works with the Outlaws well, along with Star-Lord I'd say (although everyone works with Starlord aside from Mutants not named Magneto or Wolverine)

Couple losses, but I'm not sure the first army was one of her best, and the Titans are a tough matchup. She fared pretty well herself in the second game too.

Smtihy is still signed up, but I feel comfortable with 190 after the results we have already. I propose we move to Final Editing.

One other thing that never got resolved: the marker name. I'm still not sold on "Magic Marker". "Theft Marker", maybe? "Power Marker"? Any suggestions?
