Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 170-180.
- Give a brief overview. The Kryptonian Soldiers are very tough, and showed that a lot this game by making some powerful hits. Nerve Strike isn’t optional, which can be very bad sometimes, but good at others. The simple fact is that the Soldiers didn’t prove themselves at 200 points this game, but that could change next game.
Map: Custom. An icy city with a few DOs.
Units: Kryptonian Soldier x4, Captain America (C3G), Bodyguard, and Bucky (1115) vs. Luke Cage, Dagger, Shang-Chi, Jewel, Wolverine, and Speedball (1115).

Spoiler Alert!

Wolverine and Luke Cage move out first, and they are opposed by Kryptonian Soldier A, after Bucky moves of course. Jewel moves and chucks a Toxic Waste Barrel, but it bounces off the pavement. Luke Cage stands tall on the snow, and Bucky moves. Soldier D moves next to his friend and throws the Barrel back at Jewel and Wolverine, poisoning them for a wound each, including the barrel. Speedball moves a bit, and Soldier C moves to end the round. Wolvie shakes off his wound at the end of the round, and the soldiers win initiative. Captain America moves to activate his bonus, meanwhile Bucky fails to wound people with his Machine Gun. Speedball moves and misses Bucky, and Luke continues to scout the field. Soldier D flies over near Wolverine and bashes him for a massive 5 wounds. Wolverine lashes back with a powerful swing and kills the Soldier in one hit. He heals a bit, and Luke still sits around. OM 3 for the soldiers gets wasted, so Speedball attacks Bucky, but misses to end the round. Speedball dishes two wounds out to Bucky, who wounds Speedball, and America repositions himself for a precise Shield Throw, wounding Speedball twice and Wolvie once. Speedball misses Bucky, and Soldier C wounds Speedball with Nerve Strike. Wolvie moves and heals, and Bucky kills Speedball, leaving Soldier A to kill Wolvie with a strong hit. America begins the round by moving, after Bucky advances. Dagger moves and whiffs, and Luke finally comes down from his perch to kill Bucky. Soldier C moves and wounds Dagger twice, and Jewel tries to fight back, but she misses. Luke tries to do the same, but also fails. Soldier A moves and attacks Luke with no success, Jewel Fluctuates her power, but still fails to hit the Soldiers, but Luke manages to wound Soldier C twice. In the new round, Jewel wounds Soldier C, but he’sd too distracted by Dagger and misses. Jewel kills Soldier C, and Luke wounds Soldier A once. America wounds Luke, and Dagger kills Soldier A, due to an all-skull roll on the Soldier’s part. Luke ends the round by pounding 3 wounds onto America. America misses Luke, and Jewel engages to watch Luke make the kill. The last Soldier moves, and Dagger and Luke fail to wound him. The Soldier misses Luke, and Luke catches him on a whiff for the kill. Jewel kills the Bodyguard to end things.

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 170-180.
- Give a brief overview. These Soldiers proved to be an effective one-man army, but the simple fact is that they weren’t strong enough. Nerve Strike kicks in when you don’t want it to, it would be much better if it were optional. Kryptonian Defense helps plenty, but the offensive potential is the problem due to the fact that Nerve Strike can be more of a hindrance than a help.
Map: Custom. An icy city with a few DOs.
Units: Kryptonian Soldier x4 (800) vs. Wrecker, Thunderball, Bulldozer, Piledriver, and Fire Ant Swarm x2 (800).

Even though I don't think it would have helped Scapey get 200 points out of each KS, I think the Nerve Strike should be optional as he suggested and as it was before.

I would assume that if you roll 2 blanks out of 5 dice you would want the free wound about 75% of the time, but agree making it optional is the right choice.

Well if these guys are boosted by Cap for attack of 6 and have height for an attack of 7, if they roll 5 skulls and 2 blanks, I would rather have the option to force the opponent to roll defense. Sure it will come in handy vs. squaddies and guys like Flash, but it would be nice on occasion to not have to use it.

Also, for the second army test, Scapey had 2 Ant Swarms with the Wrecking Crew. The Wrecking Crew are 800 points together and were going against 800 points of KS, so there were extra points going against the KS for that game.

Thanks. You hit the nail on the head with the green K comment. I have really been wanting to give that glyph some more value since World's finest.

Nerve Strike does bypass everything concerning defense, yes. These guys are expert combatants and super fast. And they also need to earn their points.

Infiltrate
Would this occur before or after Order Markers are placed? My assumption would be after. Pretty sneaky ability!

Double Attack
Standard ability, but pretty effective.

Kryptonian Defense
Gotta love those blanks, and C3G does great things with defense.

Final Thoughts
I’m beginning to see more uses for that Glyph of Green Kryptonite. Infiltrate is really nice.

Horo-Kanu Nerve Strike
The use of “instead of defending” instead of “instead of rolling defense dice” indicates to me that this would bypass typical defense abilities that trigger when a skull is rolled, such as Spidey-Senses 9. The 5th Precinct Cops could still Protect and Serve.

Kryptonian Defense
Gotta love those blanks, and C3G does great things with defense.

Final Thoughts
I never cease to be amazed at the various ways you create stunning variety in attacking and defending. The Nerve Strike is very creative.

HORO-KANU COMBAT
When this Kryptonian Soldier attacks a squad or hero figure with a normal attack and two or more blanks are rolled, you may have the squad or hero figure ignore this attack and receive one wound instead of defending.
