Sounds like a decent army for Tyrian. Gilbert isn't really necessary in the Super Krav builds.

But yeah... Krav can do it better.

The logic for Tyrian over the Krav is the speed that Tyrian gets, the easier to get 5th attack die, and that Tyrian doesn't lose activations as easily. Krav can do it better because of stealth dodge, but it turns the moderately overpriced Tyrian into a fun part of a competitive army.

I'm really confused by his character bio. Did he get involved in a fight with the Protectors? If so, does that mean that he and a protector fired shots simultaneously, resulting in the swath of death at the end?

He was possessed by a Shade of Bleakewood, and he attacked his own Protectors. You can find the full story in Thorums journal, which I know is around here somewhere...

So can an Atlaga repaint officially be used as Tyrian like at a tournament that allows VC?

Or do I really need to repaint a Protector of Ullar?

That kind of thing would be up to the TD, but I imagine that pretty much any VC-allowing TD would allow an Atlaga repaint.

FWIW, I would allow an Atlaga Repaint for Tyrian at my VC GenCon events. Just let me know beforehand.

I just used an unpainted Protector at GC and nobody said anything. I wouldn't say anything at my events either.

DOUBLE ATTACK
When Tyrian attacks, he may attack one additional time.

FLYING
When counting spaces for Tyrian's movement, ignore elevations. Tyrian may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When Tyrian starts to fly, if he is engaged he will take any leaving engagement attacks.
