Exciting news for anyone that wants to try the "ship-to-a-fellow-fan-who-forwards-it-to-you" route.

So, with the help of Caps, I am backer #2978 (or 2979, can't be sure..).

The process: I went in as usual and when I opened the website I said my location was the United States. Caps had PM'd his shipping details earlier, so I put those in as the shipping address but put in my own email so that I get notified of updates on my order.

Then I proceeded to checkout, and when it asked for the billing address I said to use a different address - NOT the same as the shipping address. I put in my details and payment and hey presto! My order has been confirmed.

It didn't have any issues ordering something in America with the billing address from Australia, it all seemed very streamlined. I still don't know how much shipping will be, I'm hoping that AH release some dimensions and weight for that box, because it will be one hell of a shipment - but thus far I haven't estimated it for Australia. When I do I'll add it here so that people can see.

The next step will be to organise shipping with Caps through PM's, ideally ill pre-purchase a shipping sticker that he can slap on and send off.

Also as a funny note, calculating tax afterwards was a very foreign concept to me since it's always already included in Australia, so I was like BAH extra 20 bucks, that's bogus!

I know they reused sculpts in the past with different paint jobs and I guess these would be new molds. Not sure if that’s enough.
The lava terrain used the same molds as other terrain, just with different colors. I would hope lava isn't bizarrely off the table when they prominently included lava in the teaser video for the "comeback" here.
I will add that Toys R Us is still alive and well in Canada. I do not, however, know how the exclusive arrangements work. Surely the singe lava tile itself is not trapped in some exclusive partnership, but rather the set as a whole.
Think about a Toys R Us exclusive Lego set. The set itself can only be purchased in Toys R Us, but the individual pieces are definitely included in other mass market sets.

I don't think they're going to start reproducing the exact sets they made originally any time soon, so I wouldn't worry about that.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

For YEARS I thought their name was Vulcanmech Incrediborgs. I was a bit surprised a few days ago to find out i was wrong all this time...

Y'know, If Valhalla is all War-torn because there's no place one can even go to avoid the conflict, there's probably not a lot of grass left anywhere anyway.

They could probably do 4/4 of Rock/Sand and not even include any 24-hex grass pieces. Grass is already ubiquitous on the secondary market, and anyone who has an original master set would have 4 of each type.

Yes. Or bigger pieces of the clay colored pieces that came with AotP. . . . Something.

Re: Heroscape: Age of Annihilation is here! Back it on Hasla

I think adding new terrain colors is the only way to bring in the people who aren't backing because they say they already have enough of the old terrain. In regards to the 24 hex pieces, I personally would be fine with 2 grass, 2 rock, and 4 sand but regardless something like 4 grass 2 rock and 2 sand would work.
I would also be fine with dropping the grass entirely and doing 4 sand, 2 rock, and 2 lava

"They don't need 24 hex sand tiles. Just throw in 3-4 7 hex sand tiles."

A double sided base map with grass on one side and sand on the other would be cool. Or two and the other is stone and water.

Yes!!! I really thought Arena of the Planeswalkers did a couple of things that I viewed as upgrades to the HeroScape system and the printed base level was definitely one of them. I think Age of Annihilation would have gotten away with double sided maps if they were big enough and it would have been a) new and b) cheaper.
