Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
There was a group of Cyborg Mercenaries hunting Wolverine at one point. Forget their name at the moment. But one of their leaders was used in the last Wolverine movie.

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Some wording stuff:
CHIPPIN’ IN For the entire game, Entertainers on your team have their personalities changed to Rebellious. After an ordered activation with Johnny Silverhand, you may choose another Rebellious Hero and roll a d20, adding 5 to the roll if the chosen Hero is wounded. On a roll 14+, activate the chosen Hero. After rolling for Chippin’ In, you may choose another figure and roll for Chippin’ In 1 additional time. You may not activate any additional figures this turn. A COOL METAL FIRE Johnny Silverhand may attack twice per normal attack action. If you roll at least 2 shields, you may have the defender ignore this attack and receive 1 wound. NEVER FADE AWAY When Johnny Silverhand is defeated, choose a Unique Rebellious Hero you control and place this figure on the chosen Hero's card. That Hero gains the Chippin’ In ability and all Rebellious figures you control have +1 Attack for the rest of the game. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Could we do something like:
“Choose up to 2 Rebellious Heroes you control and roll a d20 for each, adding 5 to the roll if the chosen Hero is wounded. On a 14+, activate the chosen Hero.” Seems a lot shorter and I don’t think we lose any functionality? Either way, the “you control” language is needed, per Leo’s thread. |

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
That’s technically different, as it forces you to pick the figures at the start, rather than pick one, roll, pick one, roll.

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Is it? See how the Slashers work. Not sure it matters in the case of Rebellious figures but we do have some figures where being activated off the battlefield matters and this is one faction/grouping where I can see that mattering eventually unless we just make "The Net" like a separate battlefield or something but I don't see that as strictly necessary so I would lean "on your team" over "you control" here. Additionally, I'm not certain that is needed on Leo as you can only activate an "active" team member which generally means one that "you control" and if it is otherwise the card will specify that.

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Any Houthi’s on the you control language or shortening a chippin In at all?
Edit: thoughts. What the hell is that autocorrect? |

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Seems like we are going with just "allied figure" for those. Nobody's wording (essentially just changes the timing of the second choice). Quote:

Re: Johnny Silverhand - Design
Allied isn't what you want there either. Basically the rules hardcode in that you can only take turns with stuff you control, so you don't have to spell out "Adventurer you control" on Reed's power, you can just say "Adventurer." But with stuff like Leo and Johnny, nothing is stopping you from choosing an allied figure or enemy, so it could potentially be read as letting you take control on other player's figures.
I personally am fine losing the minor gameplay advantage on Chippin' In in exchange for way simpler wording, but opinions may vary there! Nbd either way. |
