Character Bio - " As a result of a combination of a special serum derived from spider blood and a certain radiation treatment, Jessica possesses superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes, and speed. She can focus the bioelectric energy that her body generates into "venom blasts" sufficient to stun or kill normal humans, as well as blast a hole through metals. She can also adhere to almost any surface by excreting an unknown adhesive substance from her palms and soles. Jessica rapidly forms an immunity to all poisons and drugs, and is totally immune to radiation. Her body also exudes a high concentration of pheromones which elicit pleasure in men while repulsing women, though she uses a chemical "perfume" that can nullify this effect. She has also demonstrated superhuman senses in her solo series. Jessica has lost and regained her powers more than once, but has recently emerged with her powers restored greater than ever. Initially, Jessica was unable to actually fly, and had to glide with the help of web-like extensions on her costume. When she was replaced by the Skrull Queen Veranke, the latter demonstrated the ability to actually fly. Jessica, upon her return, gained this ability as well [….] In addition to her powers, Jessica is also a superb hand to hand fighter, and has trained in several styles of fighting including boxing, judo, karate, and capoeira, learned under the training of the Taskmaster. She has also had training in fencing and the use of many other weapons. Jessica was trained by HYDRA (and later on by S.H.I.E.L.D.) in covert operations, stealth, espionage, and information gathering and is a superb athlete. She speaks several foreign languages, including Korean, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German. The part you may roll again isn't clear what you are referring to. So maybe something like:

VENOM BLAST SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 4. Attack 4.
If Spider-Woman inflicts at least 1 wound with Venom Blast Special Attack, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 10 or higher, the defending figure receives one additional wound. You may continue rolling the 20-sided die until you do not roll 10 or higher. If you inflict 4 or more wounds with this special attack, but the defending figure is not destroyed, you may remove all unrevealed Order Markers from the defending figure's Army Card.

I'm not sure why it's not clear. It doesn't say "you may roll one additional time," it says "you may roll again." So:

trigger: rolling 10 or higher
result: roll again

Seems pretty clear to me.

I thought the same thing at first, but then I thought of what Bats just said so I have nothing to add here but agree with Bats.

Is the Order Marker removal really necessary? It feels sort of excessive - if you inflict four wounds on someone you've probably done enough damage, I think, and it makes the power a lot clunkier than it needs to be.

Necessary? No. It was a little extra theme (the idea of the venom causing a stasis, or knocking you out) and a little extra to differentiate it from similar powers.

If folks aren't digging it, though, I have no qualms about deleting it. Especially if it feels too tacked on.

Looking good Bats

I guess the only thing I feel is off is Venom Blasts. It seems like wording for a poison type attack, whereas her Venom Blasts are from bio-electricity.

Venom Blasts: Her body possesses an inordinate amount of bio-electricity that she has learned to channel and discharge through her hands, in controlled bursts of what she calls "Venom Blasts". These energy projections vary in power; they mostly affect the nervous system in humans. Spider-Woman can regulate them from simply a stun to potent enough to kill an average-sized man in the same way that a lightning bolt could kill him.

I guess an electrical attack can work like the current write-up, though it seems to inspire thoughts of a poison attack more than an electrical attack.

Could something like this work?


VENOM BLAST SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 4. Attack 2, 3, or 4.
Start the attack with 6 attack dice. You may attack with 2, 3, or 4 attack dice until all of the 6 attack dice have been rolled. If Spider-Woman inflicts 2 or more wounds with a single attack with Venom Blast Special Attack, roll the 20-sided die, adding 1 for each wound inflicted. If you roll 17 or higher, you may remove all unrevealed Order Markers from the defending figure's Army Card.

Yeah, something like that makes sense. But I'd love it if we could streamline that a bit and maybe take out the D20 completely somehow ....

And you're right, I was going more for poison than electricity. Whoops!

Well it would seem weird in a way that the weaker her attack got the more likely it would be to remove an OM, unless there was a condition that says she had to have attacked that figure at least one time already that turn, to kind of show that the attack was more likely to remove an OM because of cumulative effects from bio-electricity.

This might be clunky, but it makes it so that only rolling 3 skulls and 2 skulls would remove OM after already attacking that figure in that turn.
