Well, then, my big question is: Competitive or Scenario?

Personally, if I get time to play C3G it's playtesting, so I'm partial to competitive; but I completely understand if we want to go with scenario for thematic reasons.

Is there any way to accomplish both to an extent? Sewer Labyrinth has a special rule but is a competitive map; how far can a special rule go and remain competitive? For example, put one of the artifact glyphs in the middle and have some sort of rule like this:

MOGO'S ALLY
While a figure occupies the Glyph of Artifact, all figures controled by that player may ignore elevation changes while moving.

Or anything else that makes it feel like the map is on your side.

On a side note, I added the first draft of a bio to the OP.

I was thinking more like:

Glyph of Mogo
At the end of each of your turns, while a figure you control occupies this glyph, remove a piece from anywhere on the battlefield and place it anywhere on the battlefield.

That sounds cool in theory, but do you realize how many problems that could create? What size tiles can you choose? How about a 24-hex? Can you steal tiles out from under other tiles? What if there are figures on your chosen tile?

And most of all, how would you balance that?

Wording it my be a mouthful but I would think you would want to have them take tiles off the highest available layers first. So no tiles on level 3 could be moved until no tiles exist on level 4. Then no tiles could be moved from level 2 unless no tiles exist on level 3, and so on. That way you are just taking away and creating high ground rather then moving around tiles from the base level.

Sorry - I think my comments are getting you guys to jump the gun here a bit. I think your course of actions makes the most sense this way:

1. Design this as a straightforward, competitive map.
2. Create a scenario with this guy.

Eventually (and I do mean eventually, since I have a ton of characters to get through on my "bucket list" first) I want to do a Blackest Night campaign that would certainly include at least one scenario with this guy, both directly on this map, and maybe with a smaller version of this map "orbiting" another larger map.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Well, for this map I would say, leave the SS (Super Speed) Glyph on there (I know it might not be super thematic, but it works for the map), and make it a Competitive map, and then if you are allowed to, make a scenario with him in it, that’s just my .

That sounds great with me, I just didn't want to upset those who felt Competitive is unthematic for Mogo.

Pish. Silliness. I don't see why it'd ever be unthematic for a map to be competitive. Some just don't work that way strategically.

But I'm not in the Map Dept, so I'll go skulk off into a corner now .....

I don't want any terrain removing rules. Too much to ensure is balanced & to work out.

Okay, that's good enough for me, competitive it is.

How would the additional scenario idea work? Would it be designed alongside the map or at any time after the map is finished? And who would make it?
