Battle Beast and Vegeta particularly are like really similar characters. Not identical or anything, but the broad strokes are pretty close.

The Kamehameha isn’t typically a finishing move, though it is on occasion. Cell was defeated by it, but that was Gohan using it. It’s one of those moves that Goku pulls out a few times every arc just because it’s so recognizable and utilitarian. I think being a special, being able to bounce away with IT before using it, and having crowd control utility will make it plenty usable once Goku engages.

Bonding with Thor compared to Daredevil is a big difference. Like you can’t just make Superman a Rogue and have the faction work the same anymore. It messes up the feel of the faction, even if it can be balanced IMO.

Challenger sounds good. Even the more ground level guys are challengers in the yearly martial arts tournaments.

On the Fighter / Z Fighter / Professional Fish Salesman stuff, I will say I really don't get the whole 'if someone's high on point cost, they'll disrupt such and such faction' thing in general. Like if Goku is 400 points, and Moon Knight and Spider-Man are 400 points put together... that should be the same thing. If one set of 400 points is somehow worth more than 400 other points because one of them is in one place instead of two that just means someone didn't cost something right, not that the value of 4 or 0 has magically shifted into some quantum flux.

The counterargument I suppose (and I'm not sure it's a counterargument that holds water in practice) is that when choosing a bonding partner for Luke Cage every turn, if you have Spider-Man and Moon Knight, you have to make a choice between taking a turn with a 250pt unit or a 150pt unit. While you're taking turns with Spidey, your enemy has a chance to kill off Moon Knight, essentially making him lost points. With Fighter Goku though, you can take a turn with the full 400 points every bonding turn. Maybe you can kill Goku slightly faster, but that's still a big increase in power-per-turn. I could believe that has a chance to warp a faction, especially with a heavily offensive unit like this.

If we must quarantine them, I do wish we could come up with something better than Z Fighter because:
- 'Z Fighter' being different from 'Fighter' because of a single letter up front feels really silly to me. Takes some real special fighting training to fight a letter I guess.
- feels like if we're quarantining it would be better to have like a generic 'Shonen fighting person' class or something? Z Fighter is totally specific to this one universe which I've never felt is good practice.

What about Challenger? I have that on Battle Beast at the moment. Seems to fit most of the DBZ guys since like 'fighting strong people for the hell of it' is like right up there on the list for most of them motivation wise. (that's like all of Goku's motivation in the Japanese version from what I understand). And like they're also challenging bad guys to fights before they can blow up the world and such.

I could get behind Challenger. A fair amount of them are really just in it for the thrill of fighting.

I was not a fan of Z Fighter, but also felt like they didn't need to be straight Fighters. Challenger sounds like a great fit and Battle Beast does seem similar to DBZ from my very limited exposure to DBZ.

Considering BB cuts out most synergy, them being in the same bucket doesn't really matter.
