What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?

I wasn't a fan of Spheres of Influence although a lot in our boardgame group seemed to love it. It just seems that a person gets a little lucky early on & they just seem to run away with the game. not my sort of fun.

About to Start Clank Legacy in about 30 minutes. Very interested in starting this adventure.

A pal and I just got enough game components to each stage a Galaxy Game of Red Alert: Space Fleet Warfare. This will be a two board (technically two cloth) multiplayer team Epic scale game, as have been played at the conventions. See our rules discussion for this still 'unofficial' format on BGG. No scenarios have been posted up yet, but we'll come up with something.

PSC, the British publisher, is currently having a second 50% off sale on all Red Alert sets, and we took advantage of it. Our order arrived only two days after making it, and here in the USA. So we're now in the planning stage for this or next month for a first huge confrontation of space fleets, hopefully with 6-8 gamers at the table!

The next RA large expansion will feature a giant hexagonal board for three player scenarios and the first alien race, who has been selling ships to both sides of the Human Civil War. Where the two human fleets operate the same types of ships, the aliens will have new and different ship designs and capabilities!

Played Clinic Deluxe yesterday. Very interesting game where you try to build your network of clinics with different specialties to serve a influx of randomized, in both severity and type of illness, patients with ever decreasing capabilities of doctors, while hiring orderlies, nurses, and more qualified doctors and finding a place for their cars (very challenging as it turns out). Really interesting time mechanic, where you are basically spending victory points to hopefully gain more victory points. Pretty fun game.

After taking a few weeks break from it, I got back into playing Marvel Champions LCG.

I played 4 games with Captain America vs Ultron and went 2-2, and then She-Hulk vs Ultron and went 1-2.

I'll likely try Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel wah vs Ultron, and then maybe play two heroes at a time vs Ultron for awhile before moving on to Green Goblin and then The Wrecking Crew.

I think I've got about 62 or 63 games played, so definitely getting some value out of it.

Got to play Battlestar Galactica this weekend! Definitely still one of my all time favorite games. Hard to hit the table though, I don't think it's worth playing unless you have at least 5 players.

Tonight we played one of my own creations, Upon the Wind, which is an adventure module I wrote for Legends of the Ancient World by Dark City Games. We had a blast!

Played a test game of Cloudspire this weekend and it seems pretty fun. Don't really have an opinion yet, but I am confident it will not displace Too Many Bones as my favorite CTG game.

Cloud spire is good, but not on the same level as TMB. I’ve also found that 1v1 seems to be the best for for cloudspire. Solo or co-op has way too many things to remember. 3 or more players in vs mode you get in a weird well we already destroyed his fortress but he’s still playing but his resources are basically decimated so...he’s just going through the motions but not really playing.

What has everyone been playing while social distancing? I've been working from home with ZOOM and conference calls off and on every day but also been playing quite a few board games with the family.

5 Minute Marvel and Dungeon Mayhem with the younger kids.
Joan of Arc, Maximum Apocalypse, Street Masters, Too Many Bones, and LotR LCG with the older kids.
