Re: Sports: NFL
Like I said, perfect.
Pretty much every review of this deal online is pointing out every obvious thing I would say, so no point in re-hashing it here. Last edited by dok; February 13th, 2019 at 07:20 PM. Reason: Trading for a guy coming off his career year didn't work, so why not try a guy whose career year was 7 years ago? |

Re: Sports: NFL
Yeah, this seems like an attempt to try to recapture that Manning-trade success. I honestly don't feel Keenum played that bad, Denver just has some issues. But who am I to talk? Pittsburgh has two of the 5 best talents in the league on their roster and neither is likely to play for them ever again. That's problems! I hate primadonnas!

Dok, I imagine he'll be productive for Denver. We'll see.
As for Pittsburgh, well. |

Re: Sports: NFL
In other news, the NFL settles with Kaepernick (in his collusion grievance) for an undisclosed amount.
In all likelihood the NFL settled because they really wanted to avoid discovery and/or thought they would lose and would rather lose in private than in public. |

Re: Sports: NFL
I suspect you're right. Collusion would have been very difficult to prove, so I think it's very likely the league would have prevailed at trial. But it would have been ugly, and a lot of dirty laundry, and I think the best defense would have been unpalatable ("It's perfectly lawful for the different teams to have unpleasant reasons for declining to bring in Kaepernick for a tryout. Just because 10 teams were silly and/or foolish separately, doesn't mean they were colluding!").

Re: Sports: NFL
I mean, all it takes is one "hey is it OK for us to sign Kaep?" e-mail chain between a team and the league office that someone forgot to erase. And I don't think these guys would be amazing at covering their tracks (obviously we've seen lots of examples of this sort of thing in the news). Of course none of us know that such a thing exists, but then I suspect the league might not be sure either. Better to not take the risk that discovery unearths something, and just give him a fat settlement in private. I wouldn't be overly surprised if the settlement was eight figures, although it was probably "only" seven.

Re: Sports: NFL
What the heck are we going to use this thread for now?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
