I don't like the idea of soldier synergy for them at all. If we ever get around to G.I. Joe there could be a big influx of soldiers and soldier synergy and I don't think any of them should play nice with Daleks.

I also would not have their move be 3, 4 is considered our unofficial minimum. Reason being that we were once working on some official building and they had interior stairs that required a move of 4 to go up or down. I know these guys have flying so they can just fly up to the top of buildings, but 3 move just seems like it could result in some unforeseen problems.

Yeah, I get that a Dalek Drone with a species of Dalek and class of Drone might be a bit much, but I don't know if soldier is the right fit either. Dysole has Conqueror on her version.

That’s interesting...did not know that was a rule. I felt like 3 move and the no OM removal made them feel a bit more special. It'll be a shame if we have to lose both.

I don't know why A3n doesn't like the no OM removal power, seems like a really good theme fit to me. They have such a single minded focus on their mission that the idea that Joker can come along and distract or confuse them seems unlikely.

The only figures I can think of with powers that can prevent OM movement or removal are Vulcan and Silk Specter. Those powers both reperesent personality quirks or emotional state, so giving something similar to the Daleks doesn’t seem to off base from a theme perspective. It’s worth mentioning, though, that both of those cards also have good mechanical reasons for having that ability—Vulcan has it to prevent you from avoiding the downside of Power-Mad, and Silk Specter has it because the Watchmen set has a lot of OM removal that can affect your own units in it.

Since OM removing powers in general are kind of all over the place thematically (from shakedowns to ice blasts), I’d want a good mechanical reason for the Daleks to be able to avoid it. Maybe give one of the Doctors a negotiation-style power? The interplay there might make single-minded feel more justified.

The Doctor is usually able to trick/talk them into not shooting him for a little bit, so there is something in that.

Instead of attacking with a Dalek Drone, you may choose a figure within 5 clear sight spaces and roll a twenty sided die, adding 4 to the roll if the figure does not have Super Strength. If the result is 15 or higher, the figure receives 2 wounds.

ADVANCED ARMOR
When defending against an attack, this Dalek always adds two automatic shields to whatever is rolled or three automatic shields if it is a normal attack.

STEADFAST
Order Markers can never be removed from this card by any power on any glyph card or on any opponent's army card.

This. It's the only way the Doctor can win. If the Daleks shot him before he said a word the show would be over.

What about:

REPULSOR POD MOVEMENT
When moving up or down levels of terrain, Dalek Drones may triple their Height and elevation changes up to 3 levels count as one space. When moving, Dalek Drones always ignore all terrain effects.

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with this design. Unless anybody else wants to voice their thoughts, maybe we could shift discussion to a new character/design? Cybermen, anybody?

Okay I can see that. A Dr. Who that removes or rearranges OM's makes sense to me.

I guess I’m not particularly attached to that power, just that I’m worried they’ll feel bland otherwise. My big worry for these guys right now is that they just won’t have anything exciting going for them. Maybe we could brainstorm a replacement power that represents the personality of a Dalek?

I’ve always liked the idea of Negotiation or something similar on a Doctor. Tenth Doc giving you one chance kind of thing.

I had the idea of a Doctor having a Quick Talking special power in the style of Diablo’s Sleep Potion or Spider-Girl’s BMF. Before an enemy within X spaces takes a turn, the Doctor gets to roll to “talk them out of” taking a turn. Maybe the OM removal could be part of that mechanically?

EDIT: Another point; I think the Doctor should be the counter to the Daleks, not the other way around.
