The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir
The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir C3G MARVEL WAVE 24 THEY CAME FROM BEYOND! Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Wolverine and the X-Men set. Its model number and name are #022 / Korvus. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Korvus is a descendant of Rook'shir, a citizen of the Shi'ar Empire who, centuries ago, controlled the power of the Phoenix Force in conjunction with his blade. He was ultimately defeated by the Imperial Guard, a team which defends the empire and was formed for the purpose of stopping Rook'shir After he was defeated, only a portion of his power remained in his blade, which could only be lifted by one of his descendants. Korvus is the last surviving descendant of Rook'shir, and because of this he was kept in prison. K'tor, a loyalist of D'ken, offered to set Korvus free provided that he would work for him. Korvus easily overpowered the X-men except for Rachel Summers, who also controls the Phoenix Force. With the help of Rachel he was able to break free from the control of K'tor. Since then, he has become a member of the Starjammers and is shown becoming more and more intimate with Rachel Summers. Re: The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir - Design Phase
NAME = KORVUS ROOK’SHIR
SPECIES = SHI'AR UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = PIRATE PERSONALITY = STOIC SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 5 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = 270 BLADE OF THE PHOENIX Figures roll 2 fewer defense dice when defending against Korvus' normal attack. If Korvus is within 4 spaces of a figure with the Phoenix Fire special power you control after inflicting one or more wounds on a figure with his normal attack, you may roll 1 unblockable attack die against the defending figure. Figures with the Phoenix Fire special power are not affected by Blade of the Phoenix. SWEEPING BLADE SPECIAL ATTACK Range Special. Attack 4. Choose two spaces within 1 space of Korvus that are also within 1 space of each other. All other figures on or within 1 space of the chosen spaces that are no more than 3 levels higher than Korvus's height or 3 levels lower than his base are affected by this special attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately. SUPER STRENGTH
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir - Design Phase
Fairly simple, but pretty cool. Nice thematic touches and some fun synergies, eventually. I like it.

Re: The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir - Design Phase
I have the figure and his sword is pretty big so I can see the need for a 'reach' type of power here, but I think 6 levels up or down seems a bit too big. 3 or 4 seems more realistic. Does he have any other powers besides the blade? The bio says he easily defeated the X-men and right now this card does not seem all that powerful. His attack output is pretty good but he does not seem like he would last all that long at 4 defense/5 life.

Re: The Book of Korvus Rook'Shir - Design Phase
For Sweeping Blade, I think it would be more appropriate to have it be like classic's Cleave - attack one figure and some adjacent figures. I think it feels more like "swinging a sword" and less like "giant tornado attack." I think we should leave the Range 2 off of his normal attack, though, to keep things interesting, and I agree 6 spaces up and down feels sort of big. So like this...

I like Johnny's suggestions there! Much cleaner and easier to read.
