Should the Spear Volley be against non-adjacent figures only? It'd seem weird to use it on adjacent figs, I think.
I think I prefer the move of 5, but I'm ultimately OK with either. They are Amazons, so faster movement makes sense.

Which or whose turn are you talking about here?

What about if it was after taking a turn with an Amazon Unique Hero?

So:

After taking a turn with an Amazon Unique Hero you control if they inflicted one or more wounds with a normal attack this turn, you may move up to 3 Amazon Warriors you control up to 4 spaces each.

Now;

SPEAR VOLLEY SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 4. Attack 9.
If 3 unengaged Amazon Warriors you control have line of sight on the same opponent's figure, you may roll their attack dice as one combined attack. The defending figure compares height to the lowest Amazon Warrior to determine any height advantage.

Love the idea but it would seem that it could be any AWs not just the ones that are taking a turn, so I could assume that those that are taking their turn still get to attack.

I think it's based on established text from the Roman Archers that clearly replaces their normal attacks and has been FAQ'd as such.

Then lets make the text similar to that then:

That works for me, but I still think a restriction to non-adjacent targets makes sense here. They shouldn't volley spears in melee.

I would agree to that. What about my concerns for the Battle Cry?

I like what you did there, actually. At first I liked the idea of the squad being able to be more stand alone and not need a hero around, but I like their needing a hero around to help differentiate them more from the SHIELD Agents.

Since the power references the species 'Amazon' it could be either WW or the squad inflicting the wound to trigger the move bonus.

Regarding the SA - since the AW's must be unengaged to use the SA, it already prevents attacking an adjacent figure. Also since the power clearly says:

you may roll their attack dice as one combined attack.

it's clear that these AW's are the ones you're taking a turn with.

I didn't want it to read just like the Roman Archers, because the power is decidedly different in that the AW's don't have to be on the same level to use the SA. If the wording were that similar, many players might simply mentally add in the "same-level" restriction because that was what they were used to in Classic.

I like the direction of this design and really hope that we keep them open to synergy with Wonder Woman. I think it'd be fun to finally have an army to synergize (even just a little bit) with her.

But they were already different in that a Unique Hero Amazon or AW could trigger the power, whereas SHIELD Agents only use it with other SHIELD Agents. I think that by nature, Amazons are fierce warriors and would rally around each other as much as with WW. Just my two-cents.

I think the SA is too powerful and not conditional enough. Also, how many spears can they carry into battle and throw? Seems like if you want a spear throwing power, they should be uncommon and each have a spear marker on their cards.

I don't think they should be bonding with the very powerful Wonder Woman. Maybe WW could inspire them somehow though, like add to these gals movement number or something.

Could it be a "once per game" power, even if its with a common squad? I know that's a Unique Hero thing, but it could help keep it limited without having to go the Uncommon route and have to have 9 cards for 9 AW's
