Once per round, instead of moving, Gamera may move up to 8 spaces with Spinning Flame Shell. When moving with Spinning Flame Shell, Gamera has the Flying special power, and ignores leaving engagement attacks. After moving with this special power, roll an unblockable attack die against each figure occupying a space that Gamera passed over.

PLASMA FLAME SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 5. Attack 5.
Any figures adjacent to the targeted figure other than Gamera are also affected by this special attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. If a figure receives one or more wounds from this special attack, roll 1 unblockable attack die against that figure for each wound received. Figures with the Lava Resistant special power are not affected by this special attack.

HUGE SHELL WITHDRAWAL
Once per round, after Gamera is attacked or chosen by a special power, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card. If you do, Gamera ignores all wounds for the remainder of this player turn.

Nothing too bonkers here. Big spinny turtle. I'm not fussed about numbers at the moment, we'll dial those how we have to to get to 1000 points. His big power is obviously his turtle shell block. It's pretty potent so we can easily tweak defense and life around that. Otherwise he seems a bit slower at dealing damage than other monsters, but being a bit more defensive and slower feels right for a turtle. Most of our monsters ignore LEAs somehow, and the only way he does currently is by using his spinny shell.

I'll get pics of the figure and the basing later on. He's only two spaces, but there's a space in between those two spaces. And his tail will be a butthole to work around, but that's life.

Lava resistant can be cut if we're out of space. He just gets stronger from Lava so I like it. I'd just add an immunity to his fireball then.

Looks good. My only question is how the shell works if he's chosen for a negation power. Like if Emil Hamilton uses his once per game negation power on Gamera to nullify Huge Shell Withdrawal but Gamera tries to use Huge Shell Withdrawal to block the negation, which power wins out?

Do we need “if at least one skull is rolled” in the Withdrawal power? I know that language has been used, but don’t see the necessity of it.

For most negation powers, I'd say Gamera, as it acts as a sort of "counter." It's triggered on being chosen for a power, so if you choose him to be negated, Gamera's triggers and you ignore your negation.

But Emil's power is a bit weirder, since the choosing happens before the game, so I don't think it'd work here.

Though obviously we can tweak wording as needed.

Yeah, could just say "After attack dice are rolled." Allows him to bypass other attack effects that could work with zero skulls, too.

Good point on the timing of the choosing with Hamilton. I think you're right that Hamilton gets around Gamera here, which is cool (since figuring out how to "solve" for big bad threats is the theme of the power).

Very cool design. You could probably nix the straight line requirement on Spinning Flame Shell - Godzilla does basically the same thing (without flying) for free before attacking.

Also, could go with Kaiju for the species if you want Gamera able to beam struggle. Not sure what other (if any) Kaiju synergy we'll have down the line.
