I beat Sir H. He chose to let me strike and pick second. I declined the strike and he took Shadows. I took my Hero army. Syvarris was able to bring down several of the Shadows on approach and then Kalagrith in 2 activations rolled 2/4 and 3/4 for 4 more kills (alongside a CG kill) before Sir H called it with Xundar full health and a Wraith remaining against what was only 3 wounds on Kalagrith.

I let Bert choose first, no strike, he chose Quahon. I went with VIs/PKs and they got me the win. My VIs lumbered up to the center level 4 height and got enough height attacks to kill Quahon from range before their redundancy markers were worn through. They also softened up Kozil and got a few spiders. This was enough damage for PKs to fly around and pick off the rest of the spiders and put the last 3 wounds on Kozil, and the Hydra came in to finish a stubborn Raelin.

I defeated Shiftrex this morning. Crixus was the absolute MVP; he managed to kill Axentia in just 2 hits (dodging both Immolation rolls he faced) and also managed to put 4 wounds on TKN, allowing my remaining gladiators to finish the Hivelord off. Shiftrex conceded with a burnt-out Axentia and half a dozen nagrubs remaining.

I don't actually think this matchup is that unbalanced - on average, Axentia will reduce Crixus to 1-2 life before Phoenix Rising kicks in, and once Crixus dies, TKN has a chance to obliterate Spartacus and remove the Inspiration bonus. Unfortunately, if Axentia dies early, it becomes a lot more difficult for TKN and the grubs to clean up the rest.

I decided to pick first, figuring that Shiftrex would probably ban either the Blade Dancers or the Steamroller. This would allow me to either play the Steamroller into one of his builds (since Capuans are very good at blowing up big heroes), or Blade Dancers into Axentia/TKN (which I don't love as much b/c Blade Dancers are pretty bad into both heroes, albeit it's still winnable since stingers are decent into both of them). Shiftrex ended up banning the Stingers, I picked Capuans, and he picked Axentia/TKN in response.

I definitely wouldn't touch the marro / mantis army, I don't like 2 man squads much. Thought i'd do better with fast moving autowound heroes but didn't work out. I dealt 3 wounds the whole game, dice cooperated with me a whole lot lol.
