Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
Ant-Man is a super solid filler, the fire ants are good even by themselves in certain cases.
Hulk is fine. Sure he's a monster, but he's also tricky to play with his marker. Considering he's so thematically and mechanically close the what Hasbro has, I usually end up just using that one if I want to play Hulk (Or the new one, now!) |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
I love that Hulk! He is a beast if you can lure Heavy hitters into going toe to toe with him. Bringing Bruce Banner Human along to heal him keeps him chuckin' dice for a a long time usually. Boosted by Cap, he is even better. Nothing intimidates opponents like telling them you are rolling 13 Attack or Defense dice.
Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
This Hulk is great, but as LP said I usually use the Hasbro over this one.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
I've never felt compelled to take this Hulk when Hasbro Hulk does the same idea but cleaner and without the ability for your opponents to bypass the whole thing.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
Ant-Man doesn't have too much of a role, but he's cheap. 4/B-
Fire Ants are a good board control piece in the hands of a highly competitive player, and their cost is hard to beat. I think the Walkers do it better, but the Fire Ants are cheaper to swarm. 4/A- Hulk is OK, he's just one that you can nerf by playing against him the right way and once you know that way, it's not tough to counter him. Throwing lockdown figures (Jean Grey, Blob, etc.) in with Hulk is probably the best way to use him, but it's tough to need so much maintenance for such an expensive figure. 2/C+ C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
He's a bit difficult to maintain his boost, and the requirement of 2+ wounds received to regain the marker after he's on death's door, can really feel like a negative.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
Hulk probably would have been better with a slower "cool off mechanic"... this is an example of a card being better thematically but worse mechanically than the original. It's the sort of thing that was easier to ignore when there weren't so many designs, but at this point cards that "hum" mechanically are difficult to consider drafting.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
A lot of the Hasbro figures set a really high bar for us (Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Captain America, and Hulk all stand out for me there). Some of them I feel like we really cleared well, but not all.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Hulk I
I’d disagree on Hulk being thematically accurate/better, as I’m not sure I’ve ever seen his strength/power/rage diminish so easily/quickly just because an enemy isn’t within 5 ft. of him in the span of a minute or less. That feels more like a fabricated limitation for mechanical purposes rather than theme, and unfortunately hurt both in hindsight, IMO.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Wasp I
Probably my favorite filler unit. Daring Decoy isn't super great on its own in such a crushable package, but if you pair it with wound soaks and the like (Valkyrie, for instance) it can be pretty effective.
Her best feature is her ability to consistently auto-wound at such a low cost and her ability to stay alive long enough to get in range to do so (thanks to Tiny Stealth). 4/A- C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
