Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
I would also suggest when making up teams to use units that synergize a little better. Using units like Sir Dupuis or
Executioner 616 without Knights or Soulborgs really devalues them, they aren't worth their points without help. Sir Dupuis with a few squads of Knights can be devastating, but on his own he's just meh. |

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
Name Of Figure Being Playtested: Roy "Minigun" Galvinwood
Game 1 Theme: Outlaws vs Lawmen Armies: Team 1 - Roy "Minigun" Galvinwood (165), Garrett Burns (70) and Josie Whistletop (70) vs Team 2 - Guilty McCreech (30), James Murphy (75) and Johnny "Shotgun" Sullivan (65) Map: Wargrounds and 2 random Glyphs Provide a brief summary of the game: I proxy the Foolkiller miniature for my custom hero Roy "Minigun" Jones. How many kills: How many wounds dealt: Heroes Wounds dealt to Roy "Minigun" Galvinwood: Which units survived: (Team 1: Full life Roy, One life Garret Burns & Two life Josie Whistletop / Team 2: No Survivors ) How useful were playtesting units' powers how often did they come into play: (Analyze how you feel about the unit. Do you think they're worth their points? More? Less? High Speed Minigun Special Attack: Total: 2 times High Powered Minigun Special Attack: Total: 2 times Above the Law: Total: 4 times Any additional comments (theme, balance, fun factor with and against)? Theme: A human wielding a minigun, a big gun wielded by a human, excluding soulborgs because some of them are big guns themselves. Balance: I put his point value at 165, he may need to be playtested before submitting him to the SoV. Fun Factor: He can use any attack four times with the High Speed Minigun Special Attack. His High Powered Minigun Special Attack is like Major Q10's Wrist Rocket Special Attack. The Above the Law ability gives you one automatic skull when using a Normal Attack against a Lawman & one automatic shield when defending from any attack from a Lawman. The figure used for this unit is Foolkiller from Marvel Heroclix Set. The name and model number is Foolkiller Deadpool and X-Force #003b. P.S. I had some technical issues posting the playtest, what you see now is from memory. |

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
Those teams aren’t the same amount of points.

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
It was theme based, not point based. The game was outlaws vs lawmen, the points did not matter.

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
Well then it’s not really a playtest. Playtests are about determining how many points a unit is worth, so the two armies should be equal in points.

Here some calculations with points: Lawmen Guilty McCreech = 30 points James Murphy = 75 points Johnny "Shotgun" Sullivan = 65 points Total = 170 points Outlaws Garrett Burns = 70 points Josie Whistletop = 70 points Total = 140 points There is a gap of thirty points between the two. |

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
This last guys last name has changed at least 3 times. He should probably stop getting remarried and keep his maiden name.
Jokes aside. For testing purposes its usually a good idea to keep the army point totals the same. A good way to remedy that would be draft some nagrubs and they could be the outlaws dogs or pets. Then it still has a fun thematic feel to it somewhat if thats the idea. Check out my ebay where you can find my custom dice trays and dicetowers: https://www.ebay.com/usr/captainamazing_jerdo |

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
I don't think a figure with a gun that impressive should cost 30 points.
If you want your armies to be balanced, sometimes you need to add in figures that aren't as thematic. That's perfectly okay, in my opinion. |

Re: Heroscaper 101 custom playtest [Updated]
Maybe you can make Roy cost what he does, then after you finish him, make a Lawman to make things even?
For now, just focus on making 2 playtest armies that are equal in point values, even if they figures you use aren’t perfectly thematic. Just make the army he fights have some Lawmen in it. |
