CHARGED SHOT
After taking a turn with Samus Aran, if she did not move, place a white Charge Marker on this card. If she did not attack, place a Charge Marker on this card. Add 1 to Samus Aran’s normal attack for each Charge Marker on this card. After attacking with Samus Aran’s normal attack, remove all Charge Markers from this card.

JUMP
Instead of her normal move, Samus Aran may use Jump. Jump has a move of 2. When counting spaces for Jump, ignore elevations. Samus Aran may jump over water without stopping, jump over figures without becoming engaged, and jump over obstacles such as ruins. Samus Aran may not jump more than 12 levels up or down in a single jump.

ZERO SUIT
You may draft this card with one other Samus Aran Army Card you control. If you control another Samus Aran Army Card, this figure does not start the game on the battlefield. If your other Samus Aran figure is destroyed, you may replace that figure with this figure.

PARALYZER
When an opponent's figure ends its movement within 3 clear sight spaces of Samus Aran, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 13 or higher, the opponent's figure cannot attack, or use any special powers this turn.

DISENGAGE
Samus Aran never takes leaving engagement attacks.

Technology Upgrade Glyphs

Spoiler Alert!

Limit one per type: Beam Weapon, Suit, etc. Can only be equipped by a figure with the Power Suit special power.

By keeping them all normal attacks, instead of special attacks, the idea is that Charged Shot can be used in conjunction with any of the beam weapons similar to the game.

FREEZE BEAM
After attacking a Unique Hero without the Ice Resistance special power, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 15 or higher, remove one Order Marker at random from that Hero's Army Card.

WAVE BEAM
When targeting a non-adjacent figure for a normal attack, you may choose one figure adjacent to the defending figure. If the defending figure receives one or more wounds from this attack, the chosen also figure receives one wound.

PLASMA BEAM
After attacking a figure without the Lava Resistance special power, you may roll 1 unblockable combat die for Plasma damage.

PHAZON BEAM
This figure adds 1 die to its normal attack, or adds 2 dice if occupying a Phazon Pool space.

SPEED BOOSTER
After moving and instead of attacking, this figure may move up to 8 additional spaces in a straight line. While using Speed Booster, this figure may move through all figures and will not take leaving engagement attacks. After moving, roll one unblockable combat die against each figure moved through with Speed Booster.

HI JUMP BOOTS
When using the Jump special power, this figure may add 1 to its movement and jump up to 12 levels higher.

ICE WEAKNESS
When defending against a normal or special attack, this Metroid will take a maximum of one wound from a figure without the Freeze Beam or Ice Resistance special power.

FLYING
When counting spaces for this Metroid's movement, ignore elevations. This Metroid may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When this Metroid starts to fly, if it is engaged it will take any leaving engagement attacks.

You may place a black Phazon Marker on the Army Card of a Unique Hero that receives one or more wounds from this special attack. At the end of each round, one at a time roll an attack die for each figure with a Phazon Marker on its Army Card. If you roll a skull, that figure receives a wound. Figures with the Phazon Being special power are not affected by this special attack.

While there are no revealed Order Markers on this card, Dark Samus has no visible Hit Zone.

Any figure remaining on a Phazon Pool tile at the end of the round must roll one attack die. If you get a skull, then that figure recieves a wound.

Thanks guys. I actually have Photoshop and want to make a custom template for it. Just wanted to get the idea down on paper first. Most of the beam ideas are ripped off of powers from other customs, but I like the idea of keeping them simple.

Other customs I've got in the works:
- Dark Samus
- Metroid (uncommon hero)
- Ridley
- Mother Brain
- Space Pirate Troopers (common squad)

Some of these will be tough to do without proper figures, but I'm keeping my eyes open for ways to put together custom ones.

IIRC one of the old battleball figures is rather Samus like in appearance and sort of close color scheme wise, just missing the arm cannon. Might be worth looking into if you need a proxy figure.

Never heard of that game before, maybe I'll spot one at Goodwill or a garage sale.

It's been over 2 years since I've looked at these customs, and I'm just returning to it now. My interest in Heroscape has kind of ebbed and flowed over the years, but I keep coming back to it so that must be saying something! I think it's high time I put together some card art for these designs and started play testing.

In the meantime I've added to the OP:
- Space Pirates common squad
- Phazon Pool damage rules (same as Lava Field spaces)

I've also looked into an excellent suggestion from @Soundwarp SG-1 and found a great mini to use to proxy Samus from the Battleball board game which I now own. However, it's probably not the one you had in mind.

In the image below on the top row, the far right side in the gray/blue is the perfect mini. It's a guy with a claw hand, but the mechanical 'fingers' can easily be sliced off with an exacto knife to form Samus' gun arm. That mod and obviously a repaint in the correct colors. I'll be sure to post the final result once I'm done.



My goal with these customs is to identify ways to come up with figures for some of these out of other fairly cheap figures and toys.

- Toy pteradactyl head for Ridley
- T-Rex or similar dinosaur body for Mother Brain
- Some creative solution for Metroids

How much was Battle Ball and please more info on those figures. I think they may work for some of my customs.
Do you have a pic for Mother Brain? I have a lot of T-Rex figures so I may be able to come up with a good suggestion.
How big of a pteradactyl?
There are some figures from the latest Jurassic Park movie.
