The Book of Jubilee
The Book of Jubilee The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Supernova set. _________________________________________________________________Its model number and name are #016-018 / Jubilee. Character Bio - Born the daughter of prosperous Chinese immigrants, young Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee was sent to an exclusive Beverly Hills school, where her talent for gymnastics was discovered. Jubilee spent much of her time rollerblading with friends at the local mall, but ultimately ran afoul of mall security. Facing juvenile detention if caught, Jubilee panicked and first manifested her mutant ability to generate explosive energy. Soon after, her parents were mistakenly killed by hitmen. Jubilee fled to the only home she had left - the mall. She survived as a petty thief and street performer, but mall security eventually tired of her eluding capture and called in a team of novice mutant hunters, the M-Squad. That same day, the mall was visited by the female members of the X-Men. When the M-Squad attacked Jubilee, the X-Men came to her aid and then left via a portal created by Gateway. _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

NAME = JUBILEE
SECRET IDENTITY = JUBILATION LEE SPECIES = MUTANT UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = STUDENT PERSONALITY = NAÏVE SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 3 POINTS = 60 MUTANT SIDEKICK After revealing an Order Marker on the Army Card of a Unique Mutant Hero you control and taking a turn with that Mutant, if Jubilee is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Mutant, you may take an immediate turn with Jubilee, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control. FIREWORKS SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 2 or 4. Start the attack with 4 attack dice and choose a figure to attack. Any figures adjacent to the chosen figure are also affected by this special attack. You may attack with 2 or 4 attack dice until all 4 attack dice have been rolled. Attack dice are rolled once for all figures. Each affected figure rolls defense dice separately. Very cool GP, I love that she's a Mutant Sidekick, that's great! It would be tempered so that there can't be 3 mutant activations by Prof X because it only works with mutants that reveal OM and take a turn, where Mindlink says "after revealing OM and instead of taking a turn with Prof X..." So it will be nice for other mutant armies w/o Prof X. Or she can be Prof X's protector for endgame stuff, though Angel pretty much has that going on for him.
I've seen her in the X-Men cartoons, so I'm only a little familiar with her. So I checked out Marvel Comic Database and it says she can have various levels of power for her fireworks attack. So I figured that maybe we can try allowing her to send out a couple lower powered fireworks or send out one big one to give her a variety and add more fun. I didn't know how crazy you wanted to get as you could also have markers to put on a figure wounded by fireworks that would lower their att/def by 1 because of temporary blindness. It seems like you want to keep the cost down, so the marker thing probably isn't a good idea. Quote:

Cool stuff, GP. The Mutant Sidekick is a bit confusing with Mutant Mindlink, but it works, and I like that it gives a non-Prof X bonding option.
I like where Hahma's going with the Fireworks power ... but I think we could trim some text from that if we wanted to: FIREWORKS SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 1 or 2. Start the attack with 2 attack dice and choose a figure to attack. Any figures adjacent to the chosen figure are also affected by this special attack. You may attack with 1 or 2 attack dice until both attack dice have been rolled. Each skull rolled counts for one additional hit. Attack dice are rolled once for all figures. Each affected figure rolls defense dice separately. Jubilee is not affected by her own special attack. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Thanks. I thought it would be a fun low cost option to pair with Wolverine, Colossus etc to help them with crowd control when you don't want to spend the full 220 on Professor X.
Cool. I like the 1 or 2 attacks with Fireworks also. We could also just do 4 dice without the doubling effect to simplify it a bit more. Quote:

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Jubilee - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. PASS - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. PASS - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. PASS - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit too powerful or too weak. PASS - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. PASS - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. PASS - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. PASS - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. PASS - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. PASS - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. PASS Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? PASS - What should be the unit's point value? 60 points - Give a brief overview. Jubilee does a little better against weaker heroes. She doesn't have much stamina though so she goes down quick.

Jubilee definitely gets her points worth when going up against squad figures, especially on a tight map like this. She ran interference for Cyclops once or twice too. Jubilee consistently took out a ninja with each of her attacks. Dazzler got the brunt of the attacks because she was holding the OMs and they had her on the ropes. Jubilee was taken out early (R2 T2) but she took out 2 ninja and helped the X-Men with board control a bit to prevent the ninja from grouping. Jubilee only took out one Hydra Agent in this game. The MVP for X-Men was definitely Gambit who wiped out more than half of Hydra with his special attack. In a Professor X build she's more of a clean up/reserve figure but can also be useful to keep your opponent's figures and particularly squad figures from clustering. Towards the end she made her way across the map and worked with Beast once out of Professor X's range to continue giving X-Men two turns without Xavier. Map: Sewer Labyrinth Units: Professor X, Angel, Colossus, Gambit, Beast, Jubilee (980) vs Baron Strucker, Red Skull, Gorgon, Hydra Agents x3 (980)

Great job! You took a character I don't really care for and made her pretty cool and definitely interesting to play.
Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers.
