I'm wondering if the card should be updated at this point considering how many of us have never used her as a ranged attacker in any of our play test reports. I know I have never felt like she was overpriced without the ranged attack.

But she was still priced as a ranged figure. I'd personally be fine with her at 1 range if she was retested and reevaluated based on those stats, but even then she wouldn't really feel right. Right now, she feels like she should be an assassin instead of a telepath. Out of all the other Telepaths, only 6 out of 17 have a range of 1. (I'm counting the 5 Stepford Cuckoos as one unit since they're intentionally identical and function as parts of one unit, so technically it's 10 out of 21.)

Still, among the other 6, three have a ranged special attack to make up for it (Professor X, Emma Frost & the Stepford Cuckoos), and Gorilla Grodd has mind control allowing you to attack a figure (by using an opponent's figure, but still) who doesn't have to be adjacent to him. Only 2 others don't actually have some way to attack non-adjacent figures. Between them, you have Gypsy, who is a pure support figure, and Solovar, who is mainly a Simian booster.

With Psylocke as she is, she has 1 range, a D-20 power that can potentially inflict unblockable wounds, and a melee combat related power. Among the 14 assassins, eight have a range of 1. Six have a D-20 power that can potentially inflict unblockable wounds. Six have a melee combat related power.

Now, I'm not trying to argue that she should be an assassin. Thematically there are plenty of reasons why she should be a telepath, not an assassin. I'm just trying to show that right now, she doesn't feel very much like a telepath, she feels like an average assassin.

Not to mention the fact that she should thematically have range. She does more than creating psychic knives.

I'm pretty sure GP gave me the file for this one if it needs to be updated.

I'd say update it. It's odd for Psylocke not to have range, and she was tested with it so might as well stick with what was tested, IMO.

Yeah, I'd definitely make the update. There are cases where I'd be on the other side of the fence. If we found out Destiny's d20 boost was supposed to work a little differently than we'd all been playing it, that would probably be worth keeping the way it had been played, since so many later Mutants got balanced around it. Psylocke's range is pretty low-impact on tests for other units, though.
