I like the top version in what you posted above. The sentence at the end is a bit confusing, since the trees themselves are destructible objects and ARE affected.

Units: Poison Ivy(II), Swamp Thing(II), Floronic Man, Animated Vines (700) VS Bob, Ted, Carol, Ringo, Old One Eye, Cursed Earth X3 (700)

Two Tree of Life DOs were placed on the map as replacements for the two Great Evergreen trees.

Summary:

Spoiler Alert!

The Plant Animation guys had a clear advantage on this map at the beginning with all the trees and jungle plants placed by Swamp Thing. Bob, Ted, Ringo, and Carol all fall at the end of round 3, but not before taking out Poison Ivy first. Swamp Thing did a good job of locking the map down forcing the Dinos to attack the trees just to progress. The plant dudes decided to huddle around their Tree of Life as the Dinos got closer. Seeing as this was going to give them a defensive boost Old One Eye and a Cursed Earth T-Rex destroyed the tree turning it into the Tree of Death and taking their buff away. Swamp Thing takes out the last CE T-Rex in round 5 leaving just Old One Eye to fend for herself. Old One Eye finally takes down Swamp Thing in round 6 after making her way through some vines only to have them come back in round 7 blocking her path to Floronic Man. Floronic Man did his best to try and defeat Old One Eye and came really really close. The Tree of Life/Death played a bigger role in the beginning for the plant people more than the Dinos. In the end it helped the Dinos to disperse the plant guys away from the Tree of Life after they destroyed it.

Winning Team: Old One Eye with 1 life remaining.

Units: FF4 (1000) VS Godzilla (1000)

Two Tree of Life DOs were placed on the map as replacements for the two Great Evergreen trees.

Summary:

Spoiler Alert!

First round doesn’t go so hot for the FF4 Godzilla makes his way downtown walking fast destroying trees as he passes. Godzilla takes out the Tree of Life right away taking the buff away from the FF4. Godzilla then takes out Invisible Woman but takes a few shots from Human Torch and The Thing. Godzilla continues to decimate the FF4, The Thing lands 2 massive hits on him though bringing him down to 2 life left before round 3. Godzilla wins the final initiative and walks all over Human Torch. Godzilla destroyed the Tree of Life the first chance he got, just to take the buff away from the FF4. He left the Tree of Death alone for a while to his detriment thinking it would help. This hurt Godzilla more than it helped allowing the FF4 to land some easy shots on him.

Winning Team: Godzilla with 2 life remaining.

Map: Con Special Map
Units: The Wrecking Crew (800) VS The Dark Judges (800)

Summary:

Spoiler Alert!

At the end of round 1 the Dark Judges teleport to the other side of the map surrounding the Tree of Life and dividing The Wrecking Crew. Fear and Death start to peck at Thunderball while Mortis takes a shot at Bulldozer every turn. Wrecker smashes Judge Fire with a solid hit even with the Tree of Life buff, Fire falls. Piledriver and Wrecker move in for the next kill thanks to a little movement boost and take out Judge Fear. Finally Judge Death and Mortis tag team and take out Bulldozer and Thunderball. Wrecker eventually takes out Mortis, if it had not been for the buff from the Tree of Life, Mortis would have fallen sooner. Piledriver and Death duke it out for a while before Death eventually is taken out. The Tree of Death never made an appearance in this game. The Dark Judges took full advantage of the defensive boost that the Tree of Life offered for pretty much the entire game.

Winning Team: Piledriver with 3 life remaining.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED DESTRUCTIBLE OBJECT: I may just be excited to see new terrain on the map, but I really enjoyed playing with these trees. Three spaces is a lot of room to take up but offers a nice little area to give that sweet sweet aura off. You can have a total of 9 figures buffed or de-buffed by the trees and I think the aura is just strong enough to enjoy. I found myself podding up around the tree until it was destroyed and then moving away from it. I think the one thing that I wish I would have tested was throwing a figure into the Tree of Death aura and then attacking. So far so good in my eyes.
