Masters of the Force
The Clone Wars have waged a heavy toll and the conflict has spread throughout the galaxy. As star system denizens have been caught between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, two powerful leaders have emerged to lead the charge on each side, both of whom are some of the most skilled force users in the galaxy.
With Jedi Command, Master Windu effectively mobilizes the Republic forces against the Separatist threat. If the Clone Troopers fail, Mace approaches directly, using a Jedi Force Pull to engage the enemy and then his uniquely honed Vaapad Special Attack to dismantle the threat.
Count Dooku employs Forceful Diplomacy to bring Independent systems (and units) under the grasp of the Separatist Alliance. Dooku’s Sith training allows him the deadly use of Force Lightning Special Attack. In lightsaber battles, there is virtually no one with more refined skill, as the Makashi Duelist evades nearly every attack.

The Holocron of Sarlacc Pit
The Sarlacc is quite unique and plays differently than traditional Heroscape figures. We feel it is a neat addition to the HoSS universe, and we hope you enjoy it too!

The B1 Battle Droids may be fragile and Mass Produced, but their Insurmountable Numbers mean they keep coming. Don't let them swarm you, for when multiple B1s Open Fire on the same target, they are stronger.
"Where are those Droidekas?!"
Here they are. With a Deflector Shield Generator and Twin Blasters Special Attack, a Droideka is one of the most feared machines on the battlefield. If you let them get their shields up, you better run or hit them hard enough to create a Shield Overload.

Heroes of Star Wars 'Scape
Adventure Pack 3: The Forest Moon of Endor
The Second Death Star is hovering in the sky above the forest moon of Endor, protected by a shield generator on the moon's surface. A small strike team has been sent to the planet's surface, led by General Solo, to take out the generator while Rebel ships attack the Death Star from above. Upon arriving, the Rebels discover furry inhabitants who will play a crucial role in defeating the Empire. The Empire has also deployed new forces to secure their new battle station. Everything hangs precariously in the balance and the success (or prevention) of the operation now lies in your hands!
A new sub-faction arrives in the form of the Ewoks! With 2 Unique Heroes, 2 Common Heroes and a Common Squad, they arrive with bonding, rock bombs, battle horns, log traps and distractions!
Jedi Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca are already part of the Strike Team attacking the Imperial Shield Generator, but they are joined by General Han Solo, the cleverly deceptive Strike Leader, and a camo-wearing version of Princess Leia, feisty as ever! Even C-3PO makes a new appearance as the Ewok Deity, uniting the Ewok and Rebel forces to tip the balance against the Empire.
Patiently guarding the Shield Generator, waiting to spring a trap on the Rebels are the AT-STs, Stormtroopers, and Imperial Officers of previous releases, but two units are freshly deployed on Endor. The Scout Troopers bring their reconnaissance and sniper abilities to bear as ground troops, but also make use of Imperial Speeder Bikes to race through the forest and strafe enemy formations.
With Adventure Pack 3: The Forest Moon of Endor, the releases for the Original Trilogy are complete. A special release of a figure here or there is still in the works, but we are turning our attention to the second trilogy, beginning with Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Small Expansion 5: Reinforcements for the Battlefront
HoSS couldn't let today pass by without getting something new out to all the HoSS players out there. So for today we have put together a few reinforcements for every faction. BoSS (Battlefields of Star Wars Scape) is also pleased to announce a new way to play an old game with our Battlefront Game System rules and maps. This new format will challenge your old ideas of army building and give rise to some new tactics. Finally, we have a small card update to announce which affects one of our first cards ever released.
Reinforcements Arrive
Changes are coming to the galaxy's criminal underworld as a new power rises to the top of the Black Sun criminal organization. Prince Xizor is always scheming and is a master of deception. Through the use of these abilities, he is always ready to employ the right resource at the right time to ensure another victory over his enemies and competitors.
Meanwhile, the Rebel Alliance has managed to string together a number of successes. This has garnered new backers and has allowed the Alliance to acquire new weapon systems while developing the battle hardened troops needed to wield them. The Rebel Vanguard brings much needed firepower to the fight, putting the Empire's AT-ST drivers on notice.
While the rank and file Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, and Death Star Troopers are extremely effective at suppressing the general populace, the troublesome Rebellion has given rise to folk heroes who refuse to be corralled by these troopers. In response, the Empire has begun to train the fearsome Heavy Stormtrooper. These specialized troops are more heavily armed and armored to deal directly with the so called 'heroes' of the Rebellion.
Additionally, a brilliant new commander has gained honor and respect among the leaders of the Empire. Grand Admiral Thrawn now haunts the dreams of freedom fighters far and wide, somehow seeming to know every move they are going to make before they even make it.

New Battlefront Game System Rules and Maps
Those of you who have played the original Battlefront and Battlefront II video games will understand where this idea came from. For those of you who did not, the premise is fairly straightforward. On a map there are a number of strategic locations. Taking control of these locations can greatly influence the outcome of any battle. To accomplish this objective, two armies send wave after wave of troops out to seize control of and then defend these locations in an effort to overwhelm and conquer their adversary. Find out more by taking a look at the rules below. Then build an army and give them a try on one of our four new maps. The maps are included in the rulebook download. Once you get the hang of how things play you can easily import the system to most maps you may have previously used or that you may create in the future.

HoSS Card Update Announcement
One of the really nice aspects of having a fan driven custom project, released online only and for free, is that it is easier to go back and 'fix' your perceived mistakes. After spending the last few years playing with our Chewbacca card we have seen a slow decline in its effectiveness as each new release is made. More and more uncommon and common hero designs have been developed since our HoSS Master Set was released and more are on their way. This has caused Chewbacca's Wookie Rage power to become less and less effective because it currently triggers only against squad figures. In an attempt to correct that lack of foresight, and bring his card back in line with his 120 point cost, we have made a small change to how Wookie Rage triggers. Now Chewbacca will be able to fly into a rage and pull the arm out of the socket of any adjacent figure he fails to wound instead of just squad figures. You can see the wording update below:
WOOKIEE RAGE (Original)
If Chewbacca attacks an adjacent Squad figure with a normal attack and fails to destroy it, he may attack one additional time. Chewbacca may not use Wookiee Rage to attack more than twice in a single turn.
WOOKIEE RAGE (New version)
If Chewbacca attacks an adjacent figure with a normal attack and fails to inflict 1 or more wounds, he may attack one additional time. Chewbacca may not use Wookiee Rage to attack more than twice in a single turn.
Thank you all for your continued support and patience with this project. We do apologize for the inconvenience created by having to print out a new card. We really take these card revisions very seriously. We hope to make up for it soon with our final Return of the Jedi themed release, the Battle of Endor. Most of these units are completed, just a few left to wrap up. As always play testing would be a huge help to our ability to finish up. If you have some time please ask us about play testing opportunities. We really appreciate and value getting feedback from outside our little bubble before cards get released as it makes for a stronger and better HoSS experience for everyone.

Han Solo has been kidnapped by the evil crime lord Jabba the Hutt. The smuggler-turned-rebel is trapped in carbonite inside a seemingly impenetrable fortress. Pig-like Gamorreans guard every entrance, Jabba's majordomo Bib Fortuna is ever watchful, and there are rumors of a ferocious Rancor lurking somewhere in the palace… If one can get past those obstacles, there are bound to be all sorts of other scum and villainy loitering about. It's a HoSS dual release: two Super Secret Exclusives at once!
Super Secret Exclusive 2: Sands of Tatooine
The first SSE is an Episode IV flashback: the Tusken Snipers. A Tusken Sniper was first seen in Episode IV taking aim at Luke in his landspeeder as he and C-3PO went searching for R2-D2. The Tusken Snipers were then made more famous by their antics at the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace in Episode I, as they fired on passing podracers.
 
The Tusken Snipers add a dangerous ranged component to a Tusken Army (or any army) that even Jedi will fear.

The Tusken Snipers are also a part of the newly completed HoSS Scenario map: Ben Kenobi's Den. Try to get Luke and the droids to safety along with old Ben Kenobi before they are overrun by the Sandpeople.

Super Secret Exclusive 3: Droid Revolution
The second part of this release consists of the three remaining IG-88 droids, IG-88A, IG-88C and IG-88D. Contrary to the belief of most of the galaxy, IG-88B was not the only assassin droid of his model. There are three other IG-88 units that share the same sentience as their Bounty Hunter brother. Upon being activated and gaining sentience, the four droids killed all the "organics" in the lab where they were built and escaped. After that, all four droids worked together, led by IG-88A, in an attempt to start a galaxy-wide droid rebellion. Each droid has a different role: as the first unit to gain sentience, IG-88A is the leader of the droids, and manages a droid factory while posing as a human. The factory spits out droids carrying a "sleeper program" which IG-88A intends to activate after flooding the galaxy with his droids. IG-88A also assigned roles to each of the other IG-88 droids. IG-88B was assigned the role of a bounty hunter, IG-88C spent some time as a Mercenary Captain, and IG-88D became a dangerous assassin.
 
In HoSS, each version of IG-88 brings something unique to the table, either alone or all together in a frightening all-droid army.

Public HoSS designs for Han Solo, on Tauntaun & Admiral Ozzel have now been completed and are ready to add to your collection. Admiral Ozzel prefers to overwhelm his enemies with a Surprise Attack while Hoth Han scouts out the enemy with a blaster pistol in hand, then rescues those allies who find themselves in a bit of trouble.
The recently formed BoSS group has also been busy at work, with a new competitive map based on the Hoth Generator Ruins. A perfect map to try out the new Hoth Han figure on! They also have completed the Swamps of Dagobah competitive map. Beware the swamp creatures that lurk just below the surface and don't get turned around in the fog. If you have not done so before, please stop by the BoSS section and give them your thoughts on the maps they are working on.
And as always, play testing is an essential aspect of the project. If you like what we have been doing here, please contribute with a play test or two. Ben Kenobi's Den is a quick little scenario Koolster has been working on for the BoSS group that could really use one new set of eyes to bring it home.

HoloNet News Reports: Reshuffling at the Jedi Temple
HoSS is pleased to announce the promotion of three new Jedi Knights. TREX, Koolster25 and Tai-Pan have all had an impact on many of the completed HoSS cards, through constructive feedback during the play testing process. Now they will be joining in on the design discussions from beginning to end as part of the HoSS Inner Sanctum.
Along with those promotions, HoSS has elected to update and revise its membership structure. Going forward the following membership levels are now in effect:
Jedi Knight - We may choose to invite anyone with a lifetime HoSSRP of 15 points or more (some exceptions may be made) to become a Jedi Knight. Jedi Knights have access to the HoSS Inner Sanctum and can participate in all discussions but lack voting privileges. Jedi Knights still earn play test points for each play test. Instead of spending those points on a public design, Jedi Knights will spend their points to draft and design figures in the HoSS Inner Sanctum. These designs will be released as part of an official HoSS release.
Jedi Council Member - When a Jedi Council Member retires, we may choose to replace him with a Jedi Knight. Jedi Council Members are full voting members of the project and no longer track or spend HoSSRP points.
One with the Living Force - A Jedi Council Member or Jedi Knight that has retired becomes One with the Living Force. Through the Force they will still have access to the HoSS Inner Sanctum and may weigh in on debates if they so choose but do not have voting privileges. Members who have become One with the Living Force may LD a new design with permission from the current Jedi Council.

Master Yoda is an ancient creature of unknown origin who is very powerful in the Force, despite his age and frailty. Yoda is able to use the Force to rearrange the battlefield to suit his army's strategy.
Padawan Luke is a fledgling Force User, untrained, impulsive and reckless in its usage when his friends are threatened. Darth Vader, on the other hand, is skilled in lightsaber combat and telekinesis.
Standing near a Chemical Canister can be a risky place to be in a battle, but nevertheless, a figure can hide behind it as well as the Container and Crate when attacked by a non-adjacent figure. One of our playtesters has also called them "Vader's Playthings."

"You truly belong here with us among the clouds." - Lando Calrissian
Take command of Bespin's Tibanna Gas Mining Facility and the Security Forces of Cloud City with HoSS Small Expansion 2! The Bespin Wing Guard recruits both ground troops as well as pilots. Although they have been known to fall into corrupt paths, the ground troops police and protect the citizens of Cloud City, as well as act as bodyguard for the Administrators of the city. The Cloud Car Pilots, when not airborne, are able to open a communication line to their comrades in the sky and call down airstrikes on enemies near their position.
The enigmatic Lobot uses his cybernetic implants to connect to the city's mainframe computer to guide the Security Forces and keep them in line. Lando, when not acting respectable, is off playing the odds and fast-talking his way out of sticky situations.

He has requested the assistance of six of the greatest and most dangerous Bounty Hunters and has offered "a substantial reward for the one who finds the Millenium Falcon." Heroes of Star Wars 'Scape Adventure Pack 1: The Battle of Hoth
It's finally here. After a lot hard work from the HoSS group and endless playtesters scouting out the deserted tundra of Hoth, one of their Probe Droids has returned with reliable intel that a Rebel base exists on the frozen planet and have leaked the information to Admiral Kendal Ozzel.
The Imperial Admiral has gathered up a fleet, known as Death Squadron, accompanied by Darth Vader, to assault the hidden station. When Admiral Ozzel left hyperspace too close to Hoth, however, the Rebels were alerted to the Empire's presence. The Rebels began to prepare for the necessary evacuation and raised the planetary shield. The admiral would be executed by Vader for this mistake and Captain Piett would take his place. On the ground, leading the Imperial attack, would be General Maximilian Veers.
Major Derlin and his staff would lead the Rebel forces during the defense. Derlin would arm his Rebel Snow Troopers and load up the DF.9 Anti-Infantry Batteries and Atgar Cannons.
Will you fend off the Empire's relentless assault? Or will you take down the Rebel's Shield Generator and cut short the Rebel evacuation? It's up to you to decide as you play through this Adventure Pack.
This set includes 10 cool Army Cards and 3 icy destructible objects. The cards have been released in original and new Hoth flavored versions! It also comes with 1 frosty rulebook, which includes new Occupancy rules for destructible objects as well as build instructions for 3 chill maps (download here).

We now have templates with 2D Figures: HoSS (Art) and 2D Figures: HoSS (Figures) that include all figures released, including this Adventure Pack. We are working on getting a 3D template out as soon as possible. The battlefields have also been created for Online 'Scape and have been added here.

Guidelines- Maps must be submitted with build instructions in either VirtualScape or PDF format and have at least one VirtualScape image or photo as well.
- Maps should have feasible terrain requirements. (Not more than a few Master Sets/Expansions)
- Maps must be modeled after one of the locales listed.
- Each contestant may enter a maximum of two entries, one for each locale.
- Maps may be Casual, Competitive, or Scenario style maps.
Prizes- Entries may be revised at any time before the deadline.
- Feedback may be solicited from the judges.
- Contestants will receive one HoSS Reward Point (HoSSRP) for each entry submitted.
- One winner for each locale will earn two additional HoSSRP's.
Get those map juices flowing! There are just under three weeks to the deadline. If that is not enough time to get some quality entries in, we will consider extending the deadline. |

These units took a lot of work to make sure that we got them right. We wanted them to be fun and thematic, and we think we have succeeded! The Commanders are finally here to add to our existing HoSS units, one Commander for each faction:
Grand Moff Tarkin allows you to advance the Imperial Forces after winning initiative, but don't be too proud of his Technological Terror: Tarkin has a habit of underestimating the Rebel Alliance.
A-Zulmun is a Tusken Chieftain. He sits atop a Bantha as he bellows orders to his clanmates, urging them into frenzied battle!
 
The Rebel Captain is a true and loyal leader. He moves and fights with his troops, taking the point in their operations. The Rebel Captain sees the battlefield and moves his men into position, enabling them to Hold Steady until the enemy arrives. When the moment is right, he commands his men to open fire!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
It is with great satisfaction and excitement (and relief) that we proudly present this Master Set to you! It was a lot of work, but we have enjoyed it. We think the content is awesome, and we hope you will think so too! We have worked hard to give this set a delicious Star Wars flavor that brings the events of the movie to life, and we are really happy with how everything has turned out! Han and Chewie make an amazing team; Obi-Wan does all he can to protect Luke and can sacrifice himself to aid Luke posthumously; Leia is an indispensable inspiration for her troops; and Darth Vader can walk through just about any army single-handedly! Sneak into Detention Block AA-23 with your Rebel Heroes...can you save the Princess? Or, try to survive a battle with the ferocious Tusken Raiders on their home turf in Beggar's Canyon. All this great stuff is here!
In this set we have included 1 Rulebook ( download here), 15 Army ards, 1 Glyph Card, 9 Maps and three new Force Symbols. The Force Symbols appear on the Army Card of some characters, much like the Flying symbol used on many C3G cards. The Force Symbols allow us to give a basic set of Force powers to many Force wielding characters and still have room on the Army Card to add some powers that are specific to each characer. The three Force Symbols are:
We have also created 3 Factions: Rebel Alliance, Galactic Empire and Independent. More factions will be created in future releases.
Many thanks to the map creators who entered our HoSS Map Contest! As promised, the winners' maps are featured in this Master Set alongside several maps of our own creation. Also, several of the maps in this set include fun scenario rules which allow you to reenact some of the scenes from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The maps are included in the manual and will also be made available for individual download.
Each item listed above (Army Card, Glyph and Map) will have its own Holocron Thread (similar to the Classic "Book of ... Thread") where questions and strategies regarding that figure, map or glyph may be posted. A listing of the Holocrons for all released items can be found in the Archives of HoSS Thread.
We think you'll enjoy this Master Set. Let us know what you think so that future releases will be even better!

As we have been preparing for our Master Set Release, The Force has been with us. We have made great progress:- Finalized and carded 9 of the planned 17 units, with 2 more that are very close behind. (see below for a minis list)
- Map list is final or near final. Thanks to the community for all of the excellent submissions to our map contest!
- HoSS Rule Book is nearly complete.
However, we want this release to be as high quality and well polished as possible. Which means that we still have work to do. Unfortunately, we will not be ready to release on May 4th. 
Work remaining:- Finish up testing on the remaining 6 cards. Most of the designs are close, and just need some playtests to validate powers/cost.
- A couple of the remaining units have a bit of design work and discussion still going on to get them right.
- Map testing still remains for some of the maps that will be included in the release.
- Rulebook needs some photos to be shot, after which the final layout can be completed.
We are very excited to get this set out to all of you out there. But frankly, we underestimated the amount of work that it would take to get everything ready. 
We discussed doing a partial release on May 4th, but most of us felt that waiting until we are completely ready would be best. So we are diligently working on it. We hope that the remainder of the work will only delay us a few weeks. As always, we appreciate any help we can get from the community! Please check out the HoSS Public Playtesting Thread. |

The second contest is a map design contest. Rules and guidelines for this contest are in this thread. Basically we are looking for assistance with the design of balanced and fun maps which take place in that Galaxy far, far away. Casual and Scenario as well as Tournament style map entries will be accepted. Maps selected by the HoSS Jedi Knights will be included in the Master Set release rulebook with credit to the cartographer. This contest also will include cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places!
