Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
Hard to say how to get a design like this into Spider-Verse builds. Right now he just works best with whatever Pilot designs we have. I think as we get more into Pilots and VDOs we'll either have to do specific call-outs or be smart with mechanical synergy to make sure the thematic pilots & VDOs are ideal pairings.
I think in this case as long as the Driver has Web Swing or Swing Line, that'll get him into the synergy web enough. You put someone else in the driver's seat and you'll be missing those synergies. Sword Vigor is probably the cost driver here, but I like the theme of it. One big strike that always hits. |

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
Could be something simple like:
ARC TURN STRIKE Once per round, instead of attacking, you may choose a non-adjacent figure within 4 clear sight spaces of Leopardon. Roll the 20-sided die, adding X to the roll if the figure in the driver space has the swing-line special power. If you roll 15 or higher, the chosen figure receives 2 wounds. Otherwise you may roll for this special power one additional time. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
I feel like it might’ve been something I suggested already, but what about a summoning power like in the show? When a swinger takes wounds, he can leap out of the start zone or something like that?

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
Personally I'm not super worried about Spider-Connections on the mech since like... we'll have two (maybe three) dedicated robot pilot Spider-Men eventually and I don't think he really needs to work better with random non-robot piloting Spider-Men than Gundam pilots and such.
I think the more important thing is to make the Spiderverse synergy work for Spider-Men piloting giant robots. That goes a lot longer a ways than random 'I'm slightly better if my pilot has web shooters' trinket text here IMO. So like I'd ditch the clear sight requirement on Sipderverse Spidey's bonding and such like that. Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
Yeah, that's a good call. The Spidey pilots working well with both the mech and the Spidey faction seems like a solid way to establish the tie.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
If that's all they need to be good in the Spidey faction, I'm happy. That's my only concern.
Looks like he wouldn't work well with UK, though. Not sure how Web Warriors Coordination would work with vehicles, I think maybe it works? Battleplan doesn't help at all though. |

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
I agree that's probably more important. What about something like this for the Piloted Mecha power:
SPIDER MECHA (or some such less reusable name) Only single spaced Unique Heroes may occupy Leopardon. When rolling defense dice against a normal attack, if Leopardon is occupied by a figure with the Swing Line or Web Swing special power, add 1 automatic shield to whatever is rolled. Then some line about a figure with the Swing Line or Web Swing special power being considered to be in clear sight of friendly figures while piloting the mech. Not sure how to word that. The auto-shield being tied to Spider-People adds a really light synergy, but I think it's a good precedent that VDOs who get auto-shields get them when occupied. Especially mechs it represents the ability for the pilot to respond to attacks, which won't happen when the mech is unpiloted. |

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
I dig it. Definitely wouldn't want to pilot that with a non-Spider person as much then.

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
It might just be good to work out that clear sight language in general. Something like "If a friendly figure has clear sight on Leopardon, they have clear sight on Leopardon's Pilot as well."

SPIDER-MECHA

If a friendly figure has clear sight on Leopardon, they have clear sight on Leopardon's Pilot as well. I like this, shouldn't the last thing be Leopardon's driver not pilot? That's the official VDO rules term right? |

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
I like that.
Yeah, Driver is our official term iirc. Kind of weird for an airplane or mecha VDO, but it works. |

Re: The Book of Leopardon - Design
SP updated with what I'm thinking now. I know there was some feedback that Arc Turn and Sword Vigor could be more mechanically similar, but I'm not sure I want unblockables for the boomerang effect on Arc Turn nor do I want Sword Vigor to be a d20 power. I think they should feel mechanically different.
