The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the DC Crisis set.
Its model number and name are #032 / Hawk and Dove.

Character Bio - Hank and his brother Don overheard members of the mob making plans to killl their father. Wishing for some sort of power to save him, their plea was answered by a mysterious mingling of voices who offered them superpowers if they each would just "say the word".

The voices belonged to T'Charr, a Lord of Chaos, and Terataya, a Lord of Order. Even though the forces of Order and Chaos were eternal enemies, these two Lords had fallen in love. They wanted to prove to their fellow Lords the benefit of Order and Chaos working together in balance and found two likely candidates for this purpose in Hank and Don Hall, creating Hawk and Dove.

Hawk represented "chaos", while Dove represented "order". His brother Don Hall died during Crisis on Infinite Earths and was replaced with Dawn Granger.

HAWK AND DOVE
If you control a figure named Dove, Hawk has that figure's class in addition to what is listed on this card. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Hawk, if he did not move, you may immediately take a turn with a figure you control with the Dove and Hawk special power, during which that figure cannot attack.

AVATAR OF CHAOS
If there is a revealed Order Marker on this card, Hawk adds one automatic skull to his first attack of the turn, and when Hawk attacks this turn, all excess shields rolled by the defending figure count as unblockable hits inflicted on Hawk by that figure.

RECKLESS ASSAULT
After attacking with Hawk, if he is engaged, Hawk must attack one additional time.

Honestly you could probably drop the OM requirement on Hawk and Dove / Dove and Hawk ?

"During Dove's turn, instead of either moving or attacking with Dove, you may either move normally or attack with a figure with the Avatar or Chaos special power."

Something like that maybe. I can't think of anything terribly abusive to do with that.

Having them be a two-for-one special for Nightwing or someone would give them more pop. Otherwise, they're basically just super specific limited sidekicks for each other, which feels like a bit of a tough sell.

My experience with the "I can bond with one specific person on my OM, but I still have conditions on it" type units is that those powers largely just don't cut it. Mostly because they seem to be costed as if those powers are equal to generic bonding powers. And you're also paying for the power twice basically, since like.. you don't really get a lot out of both cards having it outside of occasional consolation prize turns.


But, on the other hand it was good enough for Nightwing and Flamebird fairly recently... so maybe I just have a personal beef with such powers.

I'm also not really getting the theme of a calming presence boosting friendly defense?

Idk, I do think it scans. You're a lot better at not getting hit when you have a clear head. I do worry about it being a little unfun to play against, especially in a Titans army. A potential -1 Attack for an enemy and +1 Defense for you adds a ton to Titans, especially Nightwing. But it might just be one to feel out in playtesting - I'm just pretty scared of giving them more kit in general these days.

I knew you were planning to run these in tandem, but any reason to have them in the same thread?

I'd have Dove adding to her defense when not in sight of an Avatar of Chaos. The "Dove's defense can't be reduced by other powers...reduce her defense by one" just reads strangely even if it technically works as written.
