It's not to balance her out per se (I'm not too familiar with this character in general), but it's a pretty interesting power in general and I'm sure it follows the general trend of the powers. In C3G we try and look at the over all trend of the character and not every single individual issue.

I've got the first 23 or so issues of West Coast Avengers. Early on, she was terrified of water when she was in less control of her feline side. That time period is what I was going after and it adds a unique weakness to the character.

I have an issue where Superman eats a hunk of kryptonite and becomes violent drunk and hits Lois. Give a character long enough in the comics, and you will see them do all sorts of things.
