Definitely a bias from me to get Bibbo to do stuff, since my first PT had Superman and Leatherhead win without him doing anything.

Ms. Marvel is probably better for the points, yeah, but she's probably better than most things at 350. Bibbo + a Gundam feels good enough in a Superman build though. More options with Gundams, Bibbo is parked in a pretty durable VDO so your OMs should be fairly safe and no move restriction to start the bonding up. And 6 spaces over 5 spaces I guess. I don't think its overpowered or anything by a longshot, but it works. It's probably what I would gravitate towards doing if I just had to play Bibbo, but again, some bias since it worked well for me in the PT.

I think you'd need a 'take a turn with only this figure' kind of thing on Bibbo to keep VDOs out?

I'm not saying it was bad of you to test it or that it's a terrible army or anything to be clear. I think you did a good job.

I'm just saying I dont think it's something we need to write out of the card or anything.

Like if someone wants to play Gundam Bibbo and have him be more relevant to the game, I think that's fine and they should be able to do that.

But it's not something I'd consider overpowered or that dictates how he must play.

Like in an average game where I'm not trying to make him a major player I see just as much value in a cheap filler that might make a Hail Mary as I do in conditional Gundam bonding. Especially if I stocked up on a few of the cheap Daily Planet Superman support dudes. Having someone that can fill out some points with those guys and give me a chance to claw out a win with them if Supes goes down is a equally valid role for him IMO.

Thanks! I wasn't reading it that way, but I know how intent gets misread on the internet. I appreciate the clarity.

I'd agree that I don't think VDO stuff has to go with his bonding, unless its just hyper unthematic. Bibbo felt totally fine in the 900 point game without it, especially considering how small of an investment he is by himself.

Yeah I wouldn’t try to block the pairing or raise his cost on account of it, personally.

Yeah he absolutely doesn't need it, and would feel honestly a bit unthematic for him to do it (dude runs a bar in the slums, tries to fight crime when Supes dies). Really shouldn't be piloting giant robots. But at the same time, I do agree that it is a bad expenditure of your points to put him in a Gundam when there are many better options for Superman builds for the kind of points you are dropping.

He's not breaking the bank, and gives you maybe a shot at a final rally if Supes dies, which is the goal. If you're building around Supes dying, its going to be a rough match in cases where it isn't JLII Supes I'd say.
