On the Discreet & Fast Loading version of the site, the background is white, so the underscores show right up.

...I'm on the blue and beige (near-wheat, I guess) pre-SotM theme, which is why I chose wheat. I guess if there are different backgrounds for the text there isn't going to be a universal best choice. Are dots more discreet? (They're certainly more discrete, DS. )
