Fair enough. That might be the right move then. Right now he kind of scans as just slightly worse Daredevil (I).

BW is def. a pretty niche power so I wouldn’t mind seeing it tossed. Alternatively, you could just add the flippy/grapnel stuff to his defense power, though that might make him even more similar to DD1.

I like Blind Warrior, and I think it helps keep the design simple which definitely feels like a goal here.

BW is short, but I don't agree that it's simple. I think the 'cannot be prevented...' clause was a mistake and it interacts with things counter-intuitively.

(Not laying that at anyone else's feet, by the by. It was a group decision and I was a very active part of the group at the time, don't think I objected in the slightest)

That said, there is kind of an inherent untidiness to 'this counts as that' type effects that we'd probably want if we dropped BW.

Having a simple keyword power that most people are already familiar with on a card helps the card take up less real estate in a player's head, especially one as niche as BW.

I do like the simple Billy Club Grapnel though, fwiw. I'm just with Bats in that I might drop Radar Defense before BW. Ultimately it's LD's choice, but I feel like eliminating BW and including a "this counts as BW" tag ruins some of the simplicity the design currently has going for it.

EDIT: Ronin does have a fair point about BW being relatively complex for its text-length.

I definitely don't think Daredevil designs should be forced to have Blind Warrior. It's pretty niche and kinda messy.

Personally, I don't think he needs it or a 'this counts as Blind Warrior' power? Like this is early Daredevil. Early Daredevil's blindness was a much a hinderance as a help and there where plenty of times he got prevented from attacking people (like basically once an issue).

He already works with Stick by being a Fighter, and outside of that I don't think a few random immunities are worth worrying about.

Oh, one other thought on the immunity stuff. Daredevil has also made a point of making sure people didn't know he was blind in some early stuff. Too like stupid extremes sometimes.

So like him faking being thrown off by Crazy Quilt's outfit because you don't give up your secret weakness for freaking Crazy Quilt feels totally justifiable.

If the option is rolling two powers into one or having four powers...In the words of that great 90s band Offspring: Gotta keep 'em separated.

Counting Power title names vs actually looking at the complexity of the design is the wrong move IMO.

I think putting the flippy stuff in the defensive power strays a little too far into DD I territory, so I'd rather avoid that.

Thoughts on forgoing Blind Warrior and its interactions altogether?

I definitely don't care about it. Being a "simpler" Daredevil, I like having a streamlined card.
