Re: Gamora - Design Phase
Looks good.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
So here's what I'm sending off to ERB tomorrow unless there are any objections.
NAME = GAMORA SPECIES = ZEN-WHOBERI UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = ASSASSIN PERSONALITY = RUTHLESS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 7 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 5 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 300 MASTER MARTIAL ARTIST When attacking an opponent's adjacent figure with a normal attack, add one automatic skull to whatever is rolled. When defending against a normal attack from an adjacent figure, add one automatic shield to whatever is rolled, and all excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure. GODSLAYER After Gamora inflicts one or more wounds on a figure with her normal attack, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 16 or higher, that figure receives X additional wounds, where X is equal to the number of wounds inflicted and you may not roll for this power again for the remainder of the game. HEALING At the end of the round, remove 1 Wound Marker from this card. SUPER STRENGTH |

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
Looks good to me. I like how Godslayer doubles the wounds so you may be tempted not to roll for it if you only inflict 1-2 wounds but then you may get burnt later and never get to use it at all. It's gonna lead to some difficult choices.

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
Thanks for responding so quickly. The original version of Godslayer had a higher d20 roll that could destroy the figure (with lower rolls inflicting wounds), but it was deemed too swingy.

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
I thought it funny that none of the previews I saw for Godzilla had any mention of other monsters, then the movie has them.
And did you know that Phil Jackson is a distant descendant of the Zen-Whoberi? Glad you like her. Thanks for the quick turnaround. Quote:

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Gamora
- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. Pass - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the game. Pass - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. Pass - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit too powerful or too weak. Pass - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and what are the stipulations on the power if there are any. Pass - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. Pass - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. Pass - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. Pass - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. Pass - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Pass _____________________________________________________________ Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 310-330? - Give a brief overview. I didn't inflict many wounds on the defensive side of MMA, but it was always a huge threat to the opponents. I also never hit the roll for Godslayer. Gamora was only getting a chance or two a game, but still, rotten D20 luck. One-on-one, she's feeling more 320 to me, but taking Godslayer's potential in to thought, and given her synergies, I'm thinking 330 from here. Map: Trespasser by Dignan
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 330ish - Give a brief overview. Melee squads will struggle mightily against Gamora. The Amazons have their SA, but it is too unreliable, and it failed them here. Map: Trespasser Units: Amazon Warriors x3+1 (333)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 320-330 - Give a brief overview. Gamora didn't fare so well against Range, however. Map: Trespasser Units: Skrull Warriors x3 (330)
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test 1 - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 330-340 - Give a brief overview. The Gorilla City Warriors are a tough unit, but this is a good match-up for Gamora. The GCW are melee and have an incentive to swarming an opponent. Map: Trespasser Units: Gamora (330), X-23 (220), Hand Ninja x3 (255) (805) VS Gorilla City Warriors x3 (375), Gorilla Grodd (225), Super-Ape:Mikhlo (200) (800) Unit Summary: Damage w/normal: 2 GCW destroyed, 2 wounds to Super-Ape; w/MMA: 2 GCW. Godslayer: rolled for 1 time; 0 extra wounds. Healing: 1 wounds.
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test 2 - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 330 - Give a brief overview.Gamora did a little bit better in this rematch, but the rest of her team wasn't as good, leading to a loss. Map: Trespasser Units: Gamora (330), X-23 (220), Hand Ninja x3 (255) (805) VS Gorilla City Warriors x3 (375), Gorilla Grodd (225), Super-Ape:Mikhlo (200) (800) Unit Summary: Damage w/normal: 2 GCW, 5 wounds to Gorilla Grodd, 1 wound Super-Ape; w/MMA: none. Godslayer: rolled for 2 times; 0 extra wounds. Healing: 1 wound.
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test 3 - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 330 - Give a brief overview.Even without using Godslayer, Gamora was very good against the Lanterns. The threat of Godslayer is enough to pressure the Lanterns into burning a marker every time she attacks. She destroyed about 210 points here, but that doesn't take in to account the 4-5 markers she burned. Against some of the other Lanterns, she could have done some serious damage. Map: Mountain Spring Units: Gamora (330), Ms. Marvel (350), Kraven (200) (880) VS Green Lantern:Guy (320), GL:Kyle (300), Green Lantern Construct:Bomber (100), GLC: Decoy x2 (100), GLC:Shield x3 (60) (880) Unit Summary: Damage w/normal: 3 wounds to Bomber, 3 Shields destroyed, 1 Decoy destroyed, ; w/MMA: none. Godslayer: rolled for 0 times; 0 extra wounds. Healing: 0 wounds.
Spoiler Alert!

Re: Gamora - Design Phase
Hero and Squad tests done, with the Army tests soon to follow. I'm thinking 330 to start the Army tests.
