C3G Terrain Sanctum Voting Hall

Before I vote, just for clarification and curiosity ... are we thinking of combining the plasticville buildings w/ the foamcore buildings? If this is the intention, are there any concerns about doing this (aesthetics, gameplay, costs, etc)?

Both IMO. Their are different materials used in real life buildings and the Warehouse ruin is not foam core. I you want me to I can take some pictures of the Plasticville stuff on a map with the foam core buildings I have though.

I'm hoping for a more DIY less $$ solution such as foamcore but I can't think of any unselfish reasons to vote no on boths so...

A. Nay - Kind of pricy for a LOS blocker since you can't play inside or on the roof here...

B. Yea - With a posibility to have the roof playable I could say yes to this one.


I understand the difficulty with interior spaces but I think we at least need to have one choice of either inside or on top of a building, otherwise it's just a box taking up playable space. Sure it looks great and serves a LOS function but so does a wall/ruin and they leave more playbable space.

The main reason I wanted to wait to see A3n's building is to see if the scale would match between these buildings and his.

Assuming there aren't any gameplay considerations that are being overlooked, I flip flop here.

I'm not opposed to the plasticville buildings entirely ... I prefer the cheaper alternative of printable buildings and I think A3n came up w/ a great way to create generic stackable buildings ... that said, I realize that some in the Heroscaper community are not as interested in DIY buildings and would prefer to have a specific item to purchase and use.

However, if we move forward w/ the plasticville items, I would like to see us create printable pdf versions of the buildings in order to satisfy both sides ... I'd feel better about moving forward if we could. But I'm not going to shut down the forward momentum if this is not the preferred approach.

He's obviously much better with words than I am, but in essence that is exactly what I was trying to say.

If folks want to/can do both versions for these, that's cool by me, but I'm still in favor of at least having these. And I don't mind mixing materials - we're doing it anyway. If anything, foamcore is the odd man out for materials, not plastic.

My bad, for holding things up here a bit ... just wanted to make sure I understood what the stakes of this vote were. To me at least, it appears that there is a bit of a divergence in approach here as well as some compatibility concerns ... and when we release this stuff, I just want to make sure we meet the needs/wants of as many members of the community as possible.

But anyway, I'll vote Yea and Yea. I guess, if we find problems during playtesting (i.e. incompatibility w/ the A3n stackable buildings) we can always retreat from one idea or the other.

A). Nay - Not interested in houses that only act as LOS blockers.
B). Yea - As long as the roof is made playable.

This is where we are at. We have 3 members who have not voted or responded in any way, does anyone know if they are still active on the site? It looks like B would pass (7-1) even if all 3 voted nay but A is actually close (5-3) enough that the missing votes could change the outcome. While technically I think the vote could be called on time, I'd rather not pass something like this on a technicality.

So I think we should leave the vote open a while longer. One more yea vote on A, or two abstain votes, would give it a majority and close the voting though.
