Once per round, after revealing an Order Marker on a Legionnaire you control, instead of taking a turn with that Legionnaire, you may take a turn with Lightning Lad and up to 2 other Legionnaires you control, during which;
-They may not move normally if Lightning Lad was engaged at the start of your turn; or,
-They may not attack if Lightning Lad was not engaged at the start of your turn.
You may not take any additional turns with figures you control.

SHOCKING RIPOSTE
If Lightning Lad defends against a normal attack and takes no damage, you may choose a figure within X clear sight spaces of Lightning Lad. You may then choose one additional figure within X clear sight spaces of the first chosen figure. X is the number of skulls Lightning Lad rolled when defending. Chosen figures without the Electrically Charged special power receive a wound.

ELECTRICALLY CHARGED
Lightning Lad rolls 1 fewer defense die when he is on a water space.

Round 1: Initiative Legionnaires. Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy advance.
Donatello Staff Vaults to the top of the walkway nearby and throws Mikey up next to him with the Anti-Grav Gauntlet.
Saturn Girl advances and uses Psychic Blast to put a wound on Mikey from six spaces away, then burns the “X” to avoid wounds herself. Lightning Lad advances next to Cosmic Boy on the walkway.
Leo and Ralph leap to the top of the walkway on their side. Mikey jumps down between the walkways then Cowabungas and leaps up next to Saturn Girl to attack. Magnetic Throw Defense fails and Saturn Girl is smacked for three wounds.
Cosmic Boy advances and fails a ranged attack on Mikey. I didn’t want to use Legion Assault because I didn’t want to give up the attack opportunity.
Mikey burned OM3 for Turtle Power earlier.

Round 2: Initiative Legionnaires. Cosmic Boy fails to hit Mkey. Lightning Lad engages Mikey and KO’s Mikey.
Leo and Donnie leap down to the shadows between the walkways. Donnie throws Saturn Girl down and KO’s her with the Anti-Grav Gauntlet. Ralph jumps into the shadows as well.
Saturn Girl had OM2.
Mikey had OM2.
Cosmic Boy hits Leo for three wounds from height. Again, didn’t want to use the assault and give up an attack.
Donnie had OM3 burned for Turtle Power.

Round 3: Initiative Legionnaires. Cosmic Boy can’t hit Leo from height. Lightning Lad engages Leo but can’t hit him.
Leo attacks Lightning Lad from height, but Shocking Riposte hits Leo for a wound and hits Donnie, sending the Anti-Grav Gauntlet flying. Leo attacks again and hits Lightning Lad for three wounds. Raphael attacks Cosmic Boy twice and hits him for three wounds. Donatello Staff Vaults and tries to hit Lightning Lad from height, but Magnetic Throw Defense hits, wounds him, and puts him out of attack range.
Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad both fail to hit Turtles.
Raph KO’s Cosmic Boy.
Cosmic Boy had OM3.
Donnie had OM3 burned for Turtle Power.

Round 4: Initiative Turtles. Leo leaps away and grabs the Anti-Grav Gauntlet. Donnie Staff Vaults adjacent to Lightning Lad for a double attack, but two Shocking Riposte wounds go onto Raph instead. Raphael stops the bleeding and KO’s Lightning Lad.

Unit Summary: Legion Assault never quite ended up being worth it here, though on a map where the Legionnaires had less of a range advantage (and thus were more eager to engage) and in a larger army, I could see it having more value. Shocking Riposte shone here and almost brought the Legionnaires back in it. They just weren’t quite cohesive enough at this point level, despite Lightning Lad himself performing well.

Karate Kid engages Miss Martian. She fails to hit anything that moves, and he strikes her for three wounds. Lightning Lad engages Miss Martian, takes a wound from her hitting something that moved, then he hits her for two wounds to KO her.
A White Martian advances.
Saturn Girl advances and places a wound on a White Martian with Psychic Blast, then burns the “X” to stay unwounded. Lightning Lad engages the wounded White Martian, takes a hit anything that moves wound (his third wound) and punches out that White Martian.
A White Martian advances. Mass Psychic Assault finishes Lightning Lad but fails to hit Karate Kid.
Cosmic Boy avoids Hit Anything that Moves and then hits a whiffing White Martian for a wound.

Round 3: Initiative Martian Madness. A White Martian retreats.
Cosmic Boy engages a White Martian but isn’t hit and can’t hit. Bouncing Boy bounces around and gets hit three times by Hit Anything That Moves, but also puts three wounds on White Martians.
Mass Psychic Assault takes down Bouncing Boy and puts two wounds on Cosmic Boy.
Bouncing Boy had OM2.
Mass Psychic Assault puts one wound on Karate Kid and misses Cosmic Boy twice.
Saturn Girl hits a White Martian with Psychic Blast, then takes a wound herself. Cosmic Boy avoids Hit Anything That Moves, but also fails to hit with an attack on a White Martian.
Karate Kid falls to a lava field wound.

Round 4: Initiative Martian Madness. They hit one of two Psychic Assault rolls on Cosmic Boy, and fail one on Saturn Girl.
Cosmic Boy can’t hit an adjacent White Martian. Saturn Girl moves next to two (Hit Anything That Moves fails twice) and she uses her Psychic Blast to KO one and wound another, then removes the “X.”

Unit Summary: The desire to engage to maximize Legion Assault is strong here. Sadly in this game, engagement was lethal for Lightning Lad. White Martians countered a lot of what Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl wanted to do here, giving them a rough day at the office.

I’m counting 1,100 for T1 in that second game, am I wrong? (Still kinda jetlagged!) Either way, seems like your experience was prettt consistent with mine. Both his marquee powers have chances to shine, but rarely in the same game, and he maybe feels a bit overwhelming overall?

No, but it does add up to 1080, much like T1 in the first game adds up to 680. Apparently 40+20+20=100 in Bats world.

Bummer. Must've been sleepy when I put those together. I don't think Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl work together well anyway. Would love either a new Saturn Girl or for the in the works Brainy make her able to replace OMs after burning them or something. They're still not a very cohesive set.

There, fixed the costs in my write ups. Played Lightning Lad at 120 in the second and he got stomped. I'd say he about earned his cost (of 120) in that one.

A Cosmic Boy vII and a Saturn Girl vII would both be cool gets one day. There’s enough meat on the bone there for 2 takes each.

Sure, particularly if it was a Cosmic Boy vII who wanted to play with Saturn Girl vI and a Saturn Girl vII who wanted to play with Cosmic Boy vI. They just eat each other's resources right now, which is tough.
