Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Boomerang
He's pretty overpriced for what he does, as a 4L/4D figure who has three situational ways to improve a ranged attack of 3. Would make more sense in SquadScape.
Jeff Parker is the one who reinvented Boomerang, in Thunderbolts. Nick Spencer did a great job running with that take in Superior Foes and ASM though, to his credit. |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Boomerang
Yeah, tough one to get the most out of his powers when they all do close to the same thing. Specials both really only have value in niche circumstances. The normal potential double attack is what you want most of the time, with boosters, but there are better figures to boost for less.
2/C+ C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Boomerang
Vulture is great in a Sinister Six team. My son has given me many runs for my money with the Sinister 6 with a Vulture and Electro combo punch.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Chameleon
Belated, but I think Boomerang is an interesting case study in versatility not really being worth much if its not managed correctly. The design would be a billion times stronger if you just ditched all his powers and gave him regular double attack.
Like he can't do his powers in one turn, they're all giving up the same action and have no connection with each other. So you're not gaining any efficiency or anything. You can't bank on one power as the main one and the others as little bonuses because.. none of them are strong enough for that. And they're not even especially different from one another. So you're trading out raw power for super minor differences in mediocre abilities and it doesn't really work. Flying is probably his best power here. -- I've never used Chameleon. Just not my kinda figure. Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Chameleon
Chameleon is one of those figures who's card is so clever and seems so fun when you read it, but has very little power in reality because at his core his power of taking away order markers generally requires the expenditure of order markers on him, an extremely non-threatening figure. Throw into the mix that any good player will simply strategically react to the threat by spreading OMs.
Like, he's an anti-OM hub figure but requires an OM hub to be worth it. |

Likewise. No real Spy synergies to build around at the moment either (I know he had a different class for a while).
